i bet Virginia Tech and many other teams wish Miles hadn't gone to a different philosophy for their game against LSU
What top 25 teams has lsu blown out in the past 3 years?

now this does beg the question why les and jimbo had so much beef, but i'm pretty sure that has more to do with les being forced to keep jimbo and disliking it in 05/06
rumor is he was forced to keep Crowton in '09. Don't know how much truth is in that though.

i think that he has some pressure not to fire crowton and pay the remaining money on crowton's contract

Crowton can blame whomever he wants. The bottom line is it's the OC's job to have the offense clicking no matter what plays are called for the game.
People want to blame Miles for our QB's not being able to check down or read a defense? How about our receivers dropping passes that hit them in the numbers? that is 100% on the OC and his coordinators. Of course, it then goes to the Head Coach.
All I know is what I can see on the field. Defense and ST performing each week and an offense that hasn't produced in 3 years.

Who hired Crowton and proclaimed him the best OC in college football?
Who installed Mallory and Peveto as co defensive coordinators?

we ran many more screens with jimbo as OC
we all but abandoned the bubble and slip screens with crowton
Which is weird because that was a play Crowton was known for.

Again, look back at the blog post I posted a couple of pages back and tell me this didn't pinpoint the problems with the offense the past few years.
I have read that stuff many times and it's pretty easy in hindsight to make a previously known set of ideas fit your present view. I have never said Crowton wasn't a problem, I have said I believe Miles had quite a bit more input than many people believe. There have been people who post here and are closely associated with players on the team who have stated such. You can probably figure out who.

i believe he's had some input...he is the HC. My only issue is if he does have all this input....why doesn't he get any credit for '05, '06, '07, and even '08 to a certain extent. And is it just the offense or does he also have input in the defense?

How many months of the last say 6 years has LSU been ranked in the Top 20.
Usually when bozo the clown is coaching, he gets himself in a huge bind. He usually does not have his team in the national championship conversation.
I really do not know what the nega Miles people want....what the frick do you expect.
Would some of you feel better if we had gone 9-4 with the 30th ranked offense?

Crowton's record speaks for itself...its been posted here several times...each place he goes the production of the offense goes down with each passing year...
Posted on 8/28/11 at 6:33 pm to tigerskin
of course it wasn't HIS offense -- but it sure as shite was the offense he was hired to run (and failed at, besides 2007 and 2008)

McNeese, Tech, Tenn, OM, Ark several times, Troy, WVU, UNC, etc etc
Even the Gumps 14-0 season had some nailbiters. Thats life in the SEC.
You get a lead and pound the ball trying to score without taking chances of letting opp back in it.
If you don't score, trust your D. Did you ever stop bitching long enough to think close games weren't by design?
I'm sure CLM would love to score every drive.
I've never seena fanbase so pissy about winning.

What is his share?
Now name me the three coaches in the same period of time that have not had any close games? Or at least their 'share'

People who think the offense was the same btwn fisher and crowton should just stop posting.
I get what SFP is sayIng but I think these three categories would skew the same for teams with similar success rates as LSU.
Teams always play up to the LSU's, OU's, UF's etc of the world.

Well I'll match Books' underwhelming CLM wins over lowly Troy and Tech with 2 that were just a bit too close from a certain "little" someone.
I gave you a hint.

So it is mile's philosophy to keep it close and win in the last second while Sabans likes to put teams away as early as possible. Hummm.
