Dardar was from Kansas St, so not a powerhouse or anything, but not a “small school”. We’ve had a lot of success with guys from much smaller schools (Dickinson is obvious but I’m thinking back to Paul Gervase and Eric Reyzelman).

Agree with all this as well. He probably shouldn’t even be included. Just pointing out we don’t really have as many small school guys as what keeps getting said on here.

At this point, let the young guys play and take the lumps

They’ve got talent

We’re at our best when we have organic blue chipper talent leading the roster.

Transfers from lower schools just aren’t that good.

You can’t say the first thing and have this be your second point. History has proven that there are equal amounts small school guys who end up being awesome vs those that bust. And that is not just at lsu.

Plenty of blue chip talent at lower tier schools that schools missed. Plenty of MLB talent. That's not the issue. It's that they whiffed huge on the talent they brought in. That simple. This is partly on Jay's shoulders and he also whiffed on his evaluation at catcher. Bide is not the guy there and never will be. He doesn't have the defensive game to play catcher or the fundamentals. Needs to find a new position. Should've easily recognized this and went bigger in the portal for catcher in case Bide didn't work out.

Not a season ticket holder...
I don't expect a natty every year from any LSU sport/team but what I do expect is teams that are competitive!
This years football, basketball, and early baseball teams have not only been uncompetitive but downright embarrassing.

Most baseball season ticket holders don’t even go to the game. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen empty purple chair backs behind home plate. Shits ridiculous..

In response to “Why does being a season ticket hold matter?”

I value the average season ticket holder opinion more than the average fan opinion. They are committed to the program. More than I am and more than you are, if you don’t have season tickets. They put their money where their mouth is.

If someone watches all the games( especially in person), they’re gonna know more about the current state of affairs than the average Joe fan who tunes in once or twice a week on television.

Our current catcher situation shows how ridiculous/stupid your statement really is. Being a season ticket holder your hot takes should be much better.

Nil has leveled the playing field a lot and the days of getting a stack of elite players from portal or recruits arent gonna happen every year. We lost a lot of key players and takes time to get the younger players to gel into college play!

3 out of 11 other players on the field

What freaking baseball league allows 11 players on the field at the same time?

Baseball = 8 position players + 1 pitcher on the field with a designated hitter.

8 + 1 + 1 = 10

so what position does the 11th man play?
