As much as I like Crews, he's really punked out and proved to be anything but clutch in these last two at bats. Has become passive looking for the perfect pitch which few will throw him. Hit the HR off of a weak pitcher. He's lost his aggressiveness from early in the year when he was more of a free swinger. I'd rather him swing at bad pitches than take three strikes at clutch moments. If he's going to look for a walk, put him at leadoff because he often gets on base. Can't be depended on for RBIs now. How many has he left on base at critical times lately? Bat Tanks 3rd. At least he puts the ball in play. It also seems like Crews is standing farther away from the plate than earlier in the year, and the outside corner is eating him alive. Not hitting the ball oppo like earlier in the year.

I’m not sure he’s looking for a walk but I would like to see him become more aggressive in spots like that

The 2-0 fastball in the first bases loaded at bat was something you come out of your shoes on

If not for his HR in the 9th, UGA walks us off in the bottom of the frame

He’s playing HR derby instead of the type of baseball that’s made him great. Always looking for that absolutely perfect pitch to go yard with.

The pitcher couldn't hit the side of a barn before Crews came to the plate.

The smart play was to take pitches.

Yall are fricking tards.

The at bat with bases loaded was iffy and a mistake by Crews. The next at bat was 100% two balls thrown to him called strikes.

He let way too many good pitches go by in those at bats

He did not want to swing his last 2 ab's
I don't know if he is hurt or not seeing the ball but he is not the normal Crews we've been accustomed to the last 3 seasons

Regardless of what happened to earlier hitters, Crews had just looked at two strikes. It's stupid to take a close pitch with two strikes, especially with that umpire. You're supposed to protect the plate. His job batting in the three hole with the bases loaded then two on base is to drive runs in. Crews earlier in the year would never have taken those pitches. But now he's less confident and more passive, just looking to get on base. Right now I'd move him to leadoff for a little while and move Dugas down. It might take the pressure off of Crews.

The smart play was to take pitchers and not swing one time in 2 ABs?

The smart play was to strike out looking with 5 runners left stranded in extra innings?

No man. He was timid. He either isn't seeing the ball well right now or he's being passive.

That's not the crews that was hitting in April. I have a ton of faith he'll turn it on but we're running out of time. Just go up there looking to swing and hit the ball where it's pitched. He's too good and we need him if we want to make a run.

You're fricking retarded if you think the smart play was to literally never swing.

I think the world of Crews. I hope he starts on a tear again like at the beginning of the year which was the best streak I've seen for a college hitter. He might very well do so now. That's what we need in the 3 hole. Leadership. Aggressive hitting at crunch time. I'm pulling for him. But being passive at the plate isn't going to cut it. Hope it never happens again.

In the first sentence OP says last two ABs

Look man I love crews but you're telling me you weren't disappointed when he went down looking in those situations?

Crews always has the green light. I wish he came up with the mentality "I'm about to crush one and end this bitch"

He's too good to not swing

Honestly I missed the 1st ab but did see his HR and then an ab that made sense to me to take pitches because the pitcher was throwing wild up until he came to the plate.

I can agree he should have taken some pitches in the 12th but it's just disappointing when he's up and watching close pitches and not swinging. I can't remember the count in the 12th but the pitcher hung a breaking ball and I was shocked crews didn't swing

Is what it is and I think he'll turn it on but I'd rather see him hacking at borderline pitches then watching strikes.

Again- he's too good not to swing. He's our best player and we need him to play like the best player in the country if we want to make a run

Your knee-jerk take isn't concerning in itself. It's to be expected from RantTards who have always thought they knew more than the coaches.

Hell, my retarded cousin use to show up to LSU Football Coaches radio shows. He'd draw up plays on napkins at the restaurant and try to give them to the LSU Football Coach during a break in the radio shows.

100% serious. He did this to Hallman, Dinardo, Saban, and Miles.

You people remind me of my retarded cousin.
