no because you can still only have so many out on the road. Used to be 6, not sure if that is the same number.

So the position coach, who will be coaching the kids, is not out recruiting them. I'm sure Austin is great but I would like to make a connection with my position coach as a recruit. Plus Pete is old as dirt and wont be around very long, no pun just the truth.

Yep. Exactly. Except Jenkins is literally The Godfather of DL coaches.

We didn't lose any recruits because of him. He just needed something to blame it on. End of story. He said he had never spoken to Jenkins. Flat out lie.

They are friends. That is where the comparison ends.

Jenkins is a not going to sink O. He's getting old, but his D-lines were always good. To be fair, Les and Cam sunk the ship together.

Knowing who their position coach is going to be and getting to know them is very important to players. Jenkins age is a factor. He's a great coach, but if he can't recruit, it's a liability.

Umm fans wanted Miles fired in September of 2005. Less games in than coach O. It's pretty freaking clear people are going great lengths to support coach even when he's made bad decisions. On the other hand, people are posting complete bullshite to attack the character of Les Miles. The guy who isn't even our freaking coach anymore. It was time for Miles to go. But Ed O should have never been hired as the head coach.

Yes, they never wanted Elmer Fudd hired. Then came his myriad of bad decisions vs Tennessee. You think the UF game was bad this year? Thats nothing compared to Miles sitting on the lead vs the Vols. How about 2006 when he frittered away the incredible amount of talent he inherited from Saban?
No one has attacked his character. They attacked his coaching, game management, clock management, his anachronistic offense, etc.
You're worse than those who criticized Miles. You've already written O off even though he saved our season.

The "In over his Head" RB Coach that didn't do his job during that last time against Florida has been processed and is now ingognito.

The "IOHH" WR Coach/Recruiting Coordinator has been terminated and at this very moment is begging Nick to find a spot for him in Gumpland.............

If you didn't see the difference in our DL play after Pete came in then I'm not sure you need to be a fan of football.

Recruiting or not, he can fricking coach lineman. Thomas and Dennis Johnson(former player and GA) were recruiting in his place

Jenkins is too old to recruit and will retire soon. Hurt with Mathis and Wilson.
Schools are smartly negatively recruiting LSU with that

That has nothing to do whatsoever with the reason we didn't get Mathis and Wilson. Not to mention that the entire coaching staff called out Mathis for lying to spin the news why he betrayed LSU and the state the instant he made that false allegation.

Moreover, it's not that Jenkins is too old to recruit moonbat, as according to NCAA rules and regulations, only 6 coaches on the 9 coaches coaching staff of each school are allowed to recruit.

Not to mention, that Jenkins trains NFL players so he can't recruit in any event, but you would rather that we get rid of the king daddy rabbit defensive line coach in the country and hire a newbie to take his place who can recruit, even though we have more than enough coaches to recruit. Really intelligent.

Man...there are some stupid people posting in this thread, and you are one of the most stupid.

The entire coaching staff called out Mathis as a liar the instant he made that false allegation.

Not to mention, that according to NCAA rules and regulations, only 6 coaches on a coaching staff of 9 are allowed to go out and recruit.

Man...I just can't believe how dumb some of you losers are. As according to NCAA rules and regulations only 6 of the 9 coaches on the coaching staff are allowed to recruit. Not to mention that coach O is also a very well known defensive line coach as well.

This ?

I can't figure why it's so hard to understand that Jenkins was used as a scapegoat for Mathis to take any heat off his decision to go play in the championship shithole Tuscaloosa. Be a man and say I wanted to play for Bama more. If you take heat so be it

And for everyone down on Jenkins...HE WAS THE FIRST COACH MENTIONED by K'Lavon Chiasson when asked why he chose LSU
