Who replaces him?

Rizy, Mayers, Williams

Play matchups with these three. Quick hook.

Cowan has been getting rocked. Damn near gave up 3 HRs in 1 2/3. Two outs he recorded were smoked.

So replace a good pitcher with worse pitchers and hope it works out.

That’s genius.

He’s only our best on paper because of early season mismatches.

Early season mismatches like Texas, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, and Arkansas.

He allowed a total of 2 runs in 24 2/3 against those teams.

frick off.

Absolutely over this

All we had to do was hold a two run lead over one of the two worst teams in the league. Again throw his bullpen in the course of the game like hundreds probably thousands of pitchers have done at the college and MLB levels literally forever…..especially when you have a 2 run lead in a pretty meaningful game.

Evan’s was not an option. Don’t be dumb.

Yes, by all means let’s run him out there in a “pretty meaningful” game. Again, don’t be fricking dumb.

A weekend off to rest would help him.

I’d love to see the stats for Rizy v Cowan in their last 4 outings.

Anywho by god over those last 4 appearances Cowan is one of our worst pitchers…..at this point letting him work through it in a meaningful game may cost us a national seed….that alright with you too?!?!

He's been serving up BP lately. I don't know what else you need to see. That implosion was totally predictable. The 8th was bad. Why go back to him in the 9th?

I wonder how long you’ve watched high level baseball.

If he doesn’t pitch this weekend maybe there is arm fatigue and you have a point…..that I can’t speak too.

If he pitches at all tomorrow or Saturday then your point is just ridiculous.

Clearly longer than you.

Right. Because extra rest doesn’t matter.

That’s not extra rest he normally pitches every 7th day…..either day is short rest just like today…..difference is he normally would have pitched today whereas he would not in Fri or Sat.

Sitting change up hunting his high hanging offspeed in the zone. Not hard to see why teams are tagging him. He's not locating his pitches consistently like he was earlier.

It literally is an extra days rest from pitching him today, which is what you’re calling for after 90 pitches 4 days ago.

I keep telling you not to be dumb, but you seem incapable of that. I’m done with you.

He most likely did pitch today…..I bet my bottom dollar he threw a 3 inning all out bullpen probably today (maybe yesterday depending in how he felt). I’m not sure you understand pitchers and how they work and how to truly evaluate rest.

I’m fine with being done with you because anyone defending the pitching decisions by the coaching staff in this game is just not knowledgeable on the subject matter.
