Ok… who won the conference before wade?
Texas A&M CC. Their coach is now the HC at OSU.
He also won the conference tournament his first (and only) 2 years there after taking over a 5-19 team.
and then left before wade got there.

7-7 and finishing 4th isn’t dominant in a conference or did you just do a quick google to search one year prior to Wade arriving at Mcneese?

There isn’t a single consistently good team in that conference
Brad Underwood won 3 conference titles and tournaments and now he’s at Illinois.
steve Lutz won 2 Tournaments and 1 Conference Title and now’s he’s at Ok State
Seems like having a guy with the ability to coach P5 goes a long way, and it always does in every sport.

He doesn’t know that Lutz finished .500 and 4th in the conference. He also doesn’t know that he was at WKU before OSU and didn’t go straight from the southland to a P4. He doesn’t know what he’s talking about but he wants you to think he does.

Still hilarious to me that we fired WW over something that was perfectly just fine to do maybe not even a year after his firing when NIL came into play. Surely Woodward had to know that these things were going to come into effect somewhat soon and could have done a suspension or something.

well he went 14-4 and won the conference and the conference tournament the year before Wade went to McNeese.

and again, it’s not that wade isn’t a good coach. I think he’s a great coachZ
It’s just not embarrassing that he’s succeeding at McNeese.
He’s literally only there because of a scandal. He’s a P5 HC coaching in a 1 bid conference.
He is infinitely better than any other coach in the league and could probably win it next year if you randomly assigned him to a team and gave him a. full offseason.

How is that different or easier than the bunches of coaches who do it at the P4 level every season? For every Mcneese situation there are multiple turnarounds in the bigger conferences. The SEC had 6 more teams qualify for the tourney this season and that’s one big conference alone. The numbers do not favor your emotional and biased position.

It’s not the issue, but you also have to think bigger picture. LSU needs to prove it will spend on hoops to land a better coach when McMahon is inevitably fired. It’s going to be a lot easier if they make that money push starting now rather than waiting. Proof is a lot more effective in a negotiation than talk.

bunches of coaches take personal bottom dweller P5 teams and make them the #1 team by a large margin year 1?
But yeah of course it’s easier for an elite coach to take make an F and beat D level teams than it is for a coach to fake a C-D team and beat A- teams.
