Confirmed off season troll.

The long snap creates time for the quarterback to find someone open and the 3-man shield gives blockers against the pass rush.
Evangel High School basically ran that offence during the Booty days..
Rummel couldn't even get close enough to the QB for a sack...

the OP is getting crushed, and the punt formation isn't a good example, but I think his point is to explore new offensive formations.
When I was a kid, there was no such thing as the shotgun formation. Now it's common.
No-huddle offenses were hardly ever seen, now they're common.
Things change. Even though the punt formation isn't a good suggestion, the OP's overall point is valid. Coaches should always be looking for new formations and wrinkles on offense.

Evangel could have won state championships in the single wing, their talent gap was so great. You can't run the ball out of that formation, which didn't matter because they were so good they could choose to be one dimensional. In college, without having to defend the run, you put your pass rushers outside the tackles in a sprinter stance and get after the QB.

I’ll try it out with the little league football team I coach

Based on what I watched back then, the most impressive player on the Evangel team was the center. He got that football to the quarterbacks on a rope and did it one-handed if my memory is correct.

You continually amaze me with how consistently stupid your takes are. How do you remember to breathe every day?

What? Uh! Do people really sit around and think of this sht?

Have you gotten enough negativity from this post to reinforce your shite self-image today?

You really need a coach who thinks outside the box and is willing to risk his coaching career on trying it. But if they do, it’s a good chance it could work and could become one of the all time best offenses. Then you bump this thread and take credit for it.
The best thing about this is that if you get a qb who can also punt, he can just punt it away if he doesn’t like the look of the defense.
What are your feelings on left-handed shortstops, mensa?

He was just trying to think up something to post.

No, that’s stupid, but you have me thinking. If LSU came out in the fake field goal formation for every play I don’t think it could be stopped.
Posted on 5/11/22 at 11:48 pm to cbree88
Sure can. Doesn’t have to be a ‘fake’ anything. It’s long snap shotgun formation.

Does the fake punt formation differ from the actual punt formation.
