If you can live in another state and be an LSU fan, you can go to that pitiful little school with bears and be an LSU fan. It is what in your heart that counts.

P.S. In my heart, I am tall, thin, rich and 27 years old.

A free law degree that allows you to buy future box seats at Tiger Stadium.

And to the OP, I am sure that Miles' daughter is an LSU fan.... all the way from UT...

Fanhood is in your heart. I will say, though, that there is something that goes with your time in Baton Rouge. I was checking out which LSU Tee shirt I was going to wear to work today last night. I opted for the one with a picture of Memorial tower and LSU Law building on it. Found myself singing the Alma Mater.

You don't lose your fan card but I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't go to LSU. Seriously.

Born and raised in Louisiana. Grew up with season tickets. Went to school at state. I went to more games in Baton Rouge than at state during my time there. Now that I think about it, I made every home game in BR in 07.

Had a few classes with Derek Peguese and he gave me a lot of shite for wearing LSU stuff

Moral of the story, if youre a Tiger youre a Tiger. Doesn't matter where you go to school.

go to a pretty hard private school. its a toss up on getting into LSU so Ole Miss is my backup plan

I'll say this. Having graduated from LSU (twice), there is a certain sense of pride I get from knowing that LSU means far more to me than just being my favorite team. That said, I realize that I was very fortunate in being able to have the support of my family to attend the school.

Keep in mind that you can always attend more than one college in your lifetime. If you want to go to grad school, you may well be able to get a free ride to a grad program at LSU. Never give up on that dream.

Also, look for programs at LSU that are not offered in the state of Mississippi. You may be able to use the academic common market to waive out of state tuition.

Go wherever you want. You'll end up rooting for the college you attend. It's natural.

The fact that you had to ask if you would be considered a fan is preposterous. You can be a fan of whoever you like, where ever you end up. I just hope people with your need for attention and lack of intellectual skills stops being a fan

Way to stand out as a total and complete dickhead.

It's not like you are going to ULL, ULM, SLU, or even USM. I think you turn your fan card in when you attend the University of Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, or other SEC universities that aren't Vandy. You get your fan card back, if you go to grad school at, or transfer to LSU.

I grew up an LSU fan and went to USM. A lot of LSU fans go to USM. It's a cheap option nearby if you can't afford LSU. Don't feel too bad about going to Ole Miss, just make sure to give them hell during Ole Miss/ LSU week. Just keep it classy.

No. Stupid question.
If you must go to a Mississippi school go to a non-SEC place like USM or turn in your LSU fancard. My daughter went there, much to my disapointment, and met the son of a BAMA boy who went there, much to his family's disapointment. They got married, but the families get along fine, 364 days a year.
If you go to Ole Miss, 365 days a year of hatred is in your future.

It's natural for people to become fans of the school they go to. It happened to me. I was raised a UT fan and bled orange in high school (I know, I was young and impressionable). I was all state in band and had several scholarship offers, but UT was notoriously stingy with money for music. Their best offer covered about 1/3 of the tuition.

On the other hand, LSU made me and offer I couldn't refuse. They waived out of state tuition, gave me a full ride, and TGBFTL members get a small stipend as well. There was no way I could turn that down. And LSU had a far better music program, to boot.

I had absolutely no connection to LSU whatsoever when I got here. I had never been to a game. Never seen the campus before that camp. Never cared at all about them. And this was 93, the end of the Hallman era, when the Tigers were terrible. It didn't matter. LSU won me over quickly, and I never looked back.

I don't dislike UT now, but I'm not a fan anymore. I watch their games with family and I usually cheer for them, but it's just another SEC game to me. And when they play the Tigers...Tiger Bait.

Then again, I went to grad school at FSU, and cheered for UF to beat them every year. Couldn't stand their football team and arrogant fans. I was so happy when UT beat them in the 98 BCSNC game.

So I guess it just depends on how you fit in with the school you end up at. But there is a good possibility you will end up a North MS Black Bear.

Go to Ole Miss open minded and you will enjoy your college experience more, IMO. There is a different connection between you and the school you attend than there is between you and the school you grew up rooting for. It's only natural. Don't shut yourself off to new experiences by hating the team of the University you attend. If you graduate and still don't feel Ole Miss at least you gave them a fair shake.

You could call Tuscaloosa your home, and still be a huge Tiger fan.

You are what you bleed. For me, it's purple and gold - but I went t UNO. All my friends went to LSU, but I stayed at home and went to UNO on a Top 10 scholarship.Smart move, because it got me into dental school after 3 years (with no summer classes). But since I was around 13, I've even listened to LSU basketball (and football) games on the radio if they weren't televised. Went to LSU Dental if that counts for anything.

Heck no! I sat in the Ole Miss student section and rooted for LSU when I went there for graduate school. Was even told by a guy that I had guts! LOL

Give it time, think positive and you will make it to LSU!
