I was more offended by how the media worked with the protesters to shove their agenda down our throats.

I was also more offended by the NFL for letting their employees protest while the broadcast of the game was on.

The players protesting did what they thought was best, but the way they did things didn't help their cause(whatever it was).

of course he has the "right" to protest (i.e., the GOVERNMENT can't punish him for protesting). No rational person is saying that Reid, Kaepernick, or anyone else, CAN'T protest.

But you're completing missing the point -- which is that he's protesting AT HIS JOB, while wearing the uniform of his employer, with 80k paying customers at the stadium and millions more watching on TV. They're paying to be entertained, not to watch political/protest statements.

If Reid wants to protest, go for it. Just not while on the job.

That's really for his employer to decide, and why like millions of others say screw Goodell and the NFL.

If you had reading comprehension, you'd realize that wasn't the point of the reference. It was to highlight how much of a red herring your peaceful protest argument is.

His principles are Progressive Race Fundamentalism; Black Racial Grievance, Black Cultural Separatism, historical ignorance, lazy and ill-informed anti- Americanism, anti- patriotism, over the top denigration of law enforcement and the military, peddling catastrophic External Locus Of Control psychology to blacks, and on and on....

He’s basically a really fit and handsome Gravy Chambers. The more philosophically aligned any American is to Eric Reid, the more likely they are to lead a life of failure and personal chaos. He’s financially insulated from the garbage he peddles. He’s privileged.

Eric Reid represents Race grievance, race hatred, Identity Politics, repudiation of American principles, ideals, traditions and institutions etc. The opposite of what actually succeeds for America which is promoting The Rule of Law, Individual Liberty, personal responsibility, equal protection under the law, personal gratitude, FAMILY, hard work, education etc.

Downvote like your life depends on it, but Eric Reid is a colossal moral idiot.

The incident at LSU is just hilarious. What a fricking vagina. i've had at least 3 incidents of police treating me much worse, and i've never been arrested in my life, and i'm white.
Some cops are just douchebags. Be the better man, be respectful and let him be the douche so he can feel good about his pathetic life, and walk away knowing they are douchebags. Sure i wish some of them weren't douches, but i can't control that.

and i'll also add that him saying that what happened to Alton Sterling could have happened to anyone, like his dad or brother, just shows how stupid this kid is. Best of luck to him in his life, but i think he's a moron.

These protests certainly have put the NFL in an interesting predicament.

Say they cant do them and get labeled racists/against 1st amendment rights.

Say nothing and continue to allow it and get labeled anti-patriotic anti-Americans.

Oh yeah, and everyone is a snowflake in the end

No. Its the same as me constructing an argument using Hitler to illicit negative feelings. I'm too dumb to notice that though

The First Amendment only applies to the GOVERNMENT - i.e., the government can't punish you for speech.

It DOES NOT apply to private entities, like employers.

This isn't a First Amendment issue at all.

The labels on both sides are a problem. There is a reasonable discussion to be had but both sides just want someone to hate. The vocal ones anyway

Nope, a bright guy from a good family, could have gone to school anywhere based on academics. His brother Justin is an All American at Stanford, on the field and academically.

Its fine to disagree with his politics but its also a safe bet he is smarter than 99% of the people that have posted in this thread.

NFL can regulate how their employees act while on company time.

By permitting their employees to protest they made a huge marketing mistake, and tacitly sided with the protesters and their media allies.

if he thinks that what happened to Alton Sterling could happen to his dad, then no, he isn't smarter than many on this board. He's a naive idiot.

Just b/c he's smart academically doesn't make him smart in everything he talks about. In regards to all of this, he's an idiot.

Just b/c Richard Sherman went to Stanford, doesn't mean whatever he talks about is so wise and smart.

Ted Kaczynski was a genius you know.

I don't understand why people just assume b/c someone is smart in school, or went to a "prestigious" university, that everything they say is smart now.

I think you are missing the point, he isnt asking you to believe what he believes or what he says or that its wise, its just what he believes.

So, a guy simply and quietly takes a knee in protest of what he perceives to be Government abuses, and he's bad ... but this is the same Government that some folks feel the need to arm themselves to the teeth against. Got it.

he does want people to believe what he says. He wants change. Change can't happen the way he wants it to happen unless people change their mind and think like him.
Well, he's an idiot, is what i think, so i'm not changing my mind.

If all he wanted to do was simply state what he believes, he could have done that on twitter like every other moron on this planet.
