Could Anthony Jennings play wide receiver?

I know I'm probably about to get destroyed, but hear me out:
--He has to know the routes, being on the other side of the play for long enough.
--He has imposing size (6'2" 215) and decent speed and quickness. He wouldn't be a homerun threat, but could possibly do well in the short passing game.
--He's only gotten bigger and stronger and would probably be a good blocker.
--Any time I've seen him on the sidelines this year, he's engaged, clapping, encouraging, and being a good teammate. If he had the opportunity there's no doubt in my mind that he would put everything he had into playing the position if he knew it could help the team --that could be infectious.
--I definitely remember him doing catching drills in at least one video I saw in the Spring and I'm sure that's not the only time he has.
I find it hard to believe that with his athleticism (he IS a good athlete, though perhaps not a good college qb), he wouldn't be able to catch a pass if it's on target. I'm not saying he'd become the next Josh Reed, but I think with some coaching he could take to it reasonably well.
Ok, let me have it.

At least you went in to this knowing... However, if he is good enough to start over any of our WRs, that would be a really bad sign

Im sure he would love moving from the 2nd string QB to blocking 75% of the time, assuming he gets in over the 8 other guys more qualified than him. so, yeah...makes sense
ETA: I've said it before and I'll say it again...its OPs like this that ensure that im not the dumbest poster on TD. So thanks!

Hell why not?? Would make a lot of sense to put your #2 qb out there on the field in the one receiver position where he might get his head taken off.
Try again.
Try again.

he is doing a great job holding the clipboard..born for that job

At a minimum, he could start and serve some humble pie to a few teammates...

No, can't expect him to play both ways. We are thin in our Front 7 and need him to spell Holliday at DE

Everyone knows the routes.....run straight

It's not as stupid as it sounds, but it is kind of. Other coaches have done it, but usually it's because they just don't have enough elite athletes to fill all the skill positions. LSU obviously has enough. The WRs on our team are better athletes than AJ. And our WRs have great hands. They have just had concentration problems. It's something all receivers go through at some point. They'll be fine.

Was it worth it for Rob Bolden?

I don't see why he couldn't. He'd be blocking mostly. Otherwise run deep.
