TCU will most likely lose to someone late in the season.

Even if that doesn’t happen, the CFP committee has made it clear that they are unimpressed with undefeated TCU by putting them at #7.

If they can beat Bama, a 2-loss LSU will be ranked higher than undefeated TCU.

There’s really no path left for a B12 or PAC-12 team to make the playoff unless some crazy shite happens.

A 2 loss SEC Champion goes over a 1 loss nondivision one loss Team, even if its UT. UGA beats UT goes back to number 1 we beat UGA we are in, UGA is in over undefeated TCU

We want the opportunity to beat Tennessee in the SEC championship game.

I 100% agree with that. It’s a more clear cut selection if we beat UT in the SEC CG.

Can you imagine the amount butthurt that would flow if a 2 loss LSU got in over some of those teams? The most epic melts ever.

It’s actually a dream scenario to push expansion forward. We’d be an SEC champ with two top ten wins and win over #1 in the championship game. Can’t leave the SEC out after the run they’ve had. A bunch of worthy one loss teams are left out. How do you fix that? Expand the playoffs right now.

Gotta win out. They wouldn’t be able to leave us out. TCU (even if undefeated) likely isn’t getting in with multiple 1 loss conference champs.

It won’t really be a discussion between Tenn or UGA. Hypothetically, whoever LSU beats in SEC CG is out.

Not really.
11-2 LSU with a win over Bama and 1-1 against Tennessee
12-1 Tennessee with a win over Bama and 1-1 against LSU

With a win against 6th rank Bama and win against a top 5 or better team of either TN/GA. Not a chance LSU would be snubbed, that would by far be a better resume than any other potential team.

tOSU
Clemson
SEC champ
TCU (if they win out)
1 loss tennessee, Georgia, USC, or Michigan, if TCU doesn’t win out

This will be the way it’s decided which 4 teams are in the championship playoff.

Still have to win this week to even worry about these scenarios.

We would be beating TWO top ten teams in 1 month and win the toughest conference in college football...yes we would get in. NEXT

Say what you want, but if LSU beats the undefeated #1 team to win the SEC championship, they are in. Period.

Except it wouldn’t. Because in the scenario laid out, it’s possible LSU doesn’t play Tennessee in Atlanta. Tennessee beat a higher ranked Bama and LSU at LSU. Unless LSU AND Tennessee were selected in that scenario, which is possible.

I think they'd go Tennessee. It would be hard to ignore the head to head match up and how decisive Tennessee won that game in Baton Rouge. It would ultimately lead to a bigger playoff, just like 2 loss LSU winning the NC lead to playoffs.

If UTenn and UGA have 1-loss and LSU beats UGA in the SECCG, that's a nightmare scenario for LSU

It has always been my belief that the committee ranks teams at the top of the polls based on the likely scenarios that may come to pass that will allow them to put the teams they want in the playoff…

They always protect Bama and giving us such an unexpectedly high ranking protects Bama and the sec in case we win out or they need to put Bama in…
There is absolutely no reason they should have Bama ranked over TCU other than the committee is manipulating things so they can justify certain teams getting in in the future…it’s maddening…

LSU shouldn’t be ranked 10th with so many one loss teams behind us and a bad loss to Fla St and an ugly loss to Tenn at home…it’s all committee shenanigans

This is probably the nightmare scenario for LSU TBH.

A Tennessee team that pretty much dominated LSU, beat Alabama, and lost a close game to Georgia is likely to get picked over LSU.

But I think there is a good chance TCU and Clemson both lose a game and USC will lose again. There is a scenario for two SEC teams or two Big 10 teams.

I think if LSU wins out, being that the committee has expressly stated that how a team is playing at the end of the season is a major consideration, LSU is in. If the team they beat in the SECCG is Tennessee, I think LSU goes hands down regardless of any of the rest.

If LSU wins out and is SEC champ then they are absolutely in. Rankings and records don't matter. Eye test is the trump card. SEC champ game is essentially a play in game for the CFP.
