I’ll not further enable your weird melt.
Big fan of Mahmoud and Kaepernick and Reid.

It was Mahmoud’s refusal to do this very thing that got people agitated with him.

I'm not a fan of Muslims and I'm especially not a fan of Muslims who are anti United States
Now don't get me wrong. This doesn't mean I hold any animosity for him. It just means I don't want to chill over a beer with him. I realize this is a foreign concept to the left but it's actually quite typical. you don't have to hate somebody to not want to be buddies with him

Dunno. He's not as out there as Mahmoud was. But, again, as I pointed out. To be fair, that was a LONG time ago and I'm not a fan of judging 50 year old man today, that I don't really even know, by shite he did when he was 25-30.
Again though. You guys need to relax. I don't hate Rauf. Hell, I fricking LOVED watching him play and his highlight are still a blast.
Nobody is buddies with everyone in their lives. That doesn't mean we hate everyone we aren't buddies with.
Based on what little I saw today, I'm sure that were Mahmoud and I placed in a room together, the conversation would be friendly and cordial.

Saw him and entourage at Whole Foods this afternoon. Decided not to approach.

He’s my favorite athlete of any kind of all time, and today was long overdue. In addition to being a great player, Mahmoud dealt with 1990’s cancel culture with courage and grace, and today it was wonderful to see him thank Coach Brown for inspiring him to be a true family man after growing up without a father of his own.
Mahmoud won. His critics—every single one of them—lost.
Hear! Hear! Well said xiv...I was fortunate enough to be at LSU when MAR played, best I ever saw in person. I was proud to be in the PMAC today to see this long overdue honor for him. His speech was heart-felt and genuine and a very emotional moment for this 80's LSU man. I was proud to have my LSU student daughter and one of my teenage boys with me today to see this.

Met a few people in my day and he was the nicest. Talked to coach brown after the game too. I told him I’ve met him before and he was trying to place it. I was 7 in 1989 after the ole miss game in Oxford. Then we talked about former tigers from Mississippi.

He is my favorite as well. Tyrann might be tied. Today was very moving and a day I will remember for all the right reasons.
That said, the fact that those of us who attended the game specifically to show our sincere love and respect to Mahmoud and welcome him back home to a place of honor within the LSU family where he belongs, is entirely different than accepting your flawed premise that critics of Marxist or Islamic- based Anti Americanism were defeated by anything. Magnanimity, tolerance ( the good kind) and brotherhood won . Not failed ideologies. They are still batting zero.

Chris Jackson was the best basketball player I’ve ever seen and I truly loved watching him play every game for the Tigers. I love him as a basketball player and Tiger great. He deserved his number hanging from the rafters years ago more so than anyone’s already up there.
As Raheem he sat during our national anthem and bashed the USA and Christians. That guy I disagree with.
He’s two different people and you can love one without loving both.

You are the one who ended your otherwise solid post about our shared favorite basketball player like a spiteful ideological douche canoe.
Totally petty and laughably bad use of your brain. Magnanimity was what you witnessed. Brotherhood. Forgiveness. Respect. Admiration. It was a TWO- way thing. Everybody won- there were no losers and how cartoonish of you to project your ideological possession onto what was a wonderfully positive event for our favorite Tiger.

I wasn’t joking when I said he didn’t know who he was until today. He simply saw this as an opportunity for a failed gotcha attempt by those that disagree with him politically.

that would serve to discredit or dismantle an entire set of ideals that are designed to make all people equal and free in a competitive environment which makes my corner of the Earth shine
You mean like.. Free speech?
Either way, how old was he when that happened? Do you think he is the same person he was in his early 20s that he is now in his early 50s?
In his speech today he talked about how all he wanted was to have his own family. So does it really even matter what he believes? He is an authentic person who was something special to watch when he was at LSU.
