At the end of 2020, who would have believed Ricks and Boutte would be battling for a 53 man roster spot as rookies?

Not many on this Board.

Neither "Checked out" while O was here.
Two excellent athletes are injured while playing for the Purple and Gold. Both were highlight type players. One holds the LSU receiving record for a single game, yet after they are injured, they become a POS.

Eli Ricks was destined to be a cautionary tale. The family turned the kid into a youth sports myth before he ever hit campus. Mater Dei, then IMG Academy, LSU, playing Ohio State against everybody, NIL nonsense, the constant PR push from the mom, then the Alabama move. You do all that crap, and yet there’s always some 2 star from New Iberia or St James parish or Ruston who is just as fast, just as skilled, and who wants it more.

Classic case of reading your own press clippings. Dude was a diva that even Corey Raymond hated coaching which says a lot. Now he’s got two different coaching staffs saying his attitude always sucked

Some of you are just a tad too happy about a kid failing.

It's worked for a couple, but most do fail when transferring out: Tre Palmer had 1,000+ rec yds at Nebraska, Tyron Johnson has seen playing time in NFL for last 3 years. Trey quinn did decent and played 2 nfl years.

None of those guys were every down starters unless they got hurt. Other than stability there was no real upside for Ricks to transfer. With that said if kid wants to transfer out of the SEC West and isn't playing LSU I hope they do well.

So that's it. The board gloats over a random transfer failing? Could be anyone. Right?

When is it ever ok to laugh at a kid’s failure?

I think it's allow here, but evidently he has turned things around.

Your definition of kid is vastly different than mine.

Just curious, when, in your mind, will he become a man?

Does calling him a young man make it ok?

Oh it is. I wasn’t questioning whether it was permissible. Hell, personal attacks abound, here.

Will be many more like him. Only difference they will be walking away with NIL millions for being a bust in college. There are kids now making a million or more before even playing a down of college ball and it's all ok'd by Ncaa now . I'm sure no ego's will be affected by this.
