Wofford probably will win the autobid in the southern tournament but eyeing them their RPI is up to 51
Also Indiana in a good position to win the autobid but their RPI is up to 52. That was my one bubble team other than Arizona St that D1 Baseball did not really mention in their pre tournament projections.

USC beats Cal to advance to the Pac 12 finals. Cal is probably out with a RPI around 60. USC would obviously be a stolen bid.
Speaking of USC, amazing stat I read earlier. This is the first time they've had back to back 30 wins seasons since 2001-2002.

Only program with more titles than LSU thanks to racking them up over half a century ago when no one cared about college baseball. Basically Yale football.

I think for Wofford to get into at-large position, they would have to earn the auto-bid anyway. I think Indiana is another story. I feel like the committee was going to give the Big 10 3 bids as long as Indiana didn’t go 0-2. As long as Michigan doesn’t earn the auto-bid, I think they’re in.

I think if Arizona wins the auto-bid, Cal still has a decent chance at an at-large. The committee knows that West Coast teams are disadvantaged in the RPI and tend to have a specific number of minimum bids in mind for the PAC-12. I think they get 4 bids with the last either Cal or the tournament champ.

I agree with the west coast verdict but I could see instead of the pac 12 getting 4 they just count towards the UC Irvine and UC Santa Barbara conference as representation for the west. San Diego as well, so idk if the pac 12 will get 4 bids it’ll be interesting to see.
I remember last year, UC Irvine was the team talked about getting screwed over.

Nicholls hits a walk-off homer against Southeastern to advance to Southland championship game. They'll play the Lamar-McNeese winner.

I think the playoff field is starting to firm up at this point. I started with 19 bubble teams for 13 spots.
In: LSU, Vandy, SC, UCF, TCU, CAA tournament champ (Charleston/UNCW), Big East tournament champ (St John’s/Georgetown)
Out: Cincinnati, Louisville, Troy, Xavier
That leaves 8 teams for 6 spots minus any additional bid thieves.
Probable: Cal/PAC-12 auto-bid, Indiana/Big 10 auto-bid.
Contenders (6 for 4 spots minus bid thieves):
Florida 28-27 (13-17) RPI: #28
Coastal Carolina: 34-23 (16-14) RPI: #36
Charleston/UNCW loser (currently #40/#44)
James Madison: 33-22 (17-13) RPI: #43
Kansas St: 32-24 (15-15) RPI: #46
Georgia Tech: 31-23 (15-15) RPI: #48
Potential additional bid steals: C-USA, MVC, AAC

I remember the FR All-American pitched an amazing game against Bama in the Tuscaloosa regional last year before he came out and Nicholls ended up blowing the lead afterwards. Hopefully they’re in our regional or the one we’re paired with and they can knock off a 1-seed for us
ETA Nicholls ended the season with B2B series wins over Lamar & McNeese.

I’m leaning
Kansas St. Out
Georgia Tech out
In but will be next out:
Coastal Carolina
In
James Madison
Florida will just depend on the committee they are either out or way in idk how they will judge them.
Charleston / UNCW loser I think will be in for now.

We’re very much on the same page on each of those points. JMU made a big jump in RPI with their win today. That surprised me. I still don’t think they should be in ahead of Coastal but they probably will be now. I’m not at all sure how they’ll handle Florida.

If ECU wins, who do they have to get past in the AAC Championship game?

Looking like the AAC will get Wichita st or Tulane as the autobid and ECU will be an at large.
Wichita St is up 9-2 over East Carolina in the 5th

They want Florida in just to be able to talk about Caglianone.

There will be a stolen bid in the AAC, ECU loses 12-2 to Wichita St.

And another stolen bid coming out of the MVC, as Indiana St goes down.
USC is up 3-0 in the 5th against Arizona which could represent a stolen bid if they hold on, but more likely means they’ll get in instead of Cal.

Arizona vs USC is now 3-3
Georgia Southern beating JMU 6-0 but I think JMU is in.
(Unless Georgia Southern got the autobid then they may be left out)
Louisiana tech beats Liberty
