Condition of the Turf in Tiger Stadium

From my seats the turf (grass)looked really bad. Almost appeared as the field was wet. I cant remember the field looking like this in recent year. Didnt appear it was holding together

A couple years ago I ran the Tiger 10K that finished at the 50 yard line.... and I was shocked at how bad the field/turf was. Painted river silt is what I would call it. Now this was December, right at the end of the season, but damn, it was just bad.

I know they were trying to hire a new turf manager a few weeks ago. Maybe the position is vacant.

I thought they put in a new turf system a few years ago with all new drainage that was supposed to solve all our problems. Supposedly you could just swap out any bad sections with a new section grown off site. What happened with that.

Most on here I guess have not been down on field level. Gone are the days of 3” lush turf. The fields are mowed like a PGA fairway and the game causes a lot of physical damage that is more aesthetic for the most part. The field crew will clean it up and have it ready next week.

not sure what you're talking about, because I remember specifically saying "the field looks great today" from my upper deck seats
