I stand corrected. Tried to post with my bad memory instead of verifying.

I was there though.

November 7, 1970. LSU lost 3-0. They had the ball inside the 5 three times and didn't score. Their QB was Joe Theisman.

Neutral was in Dallas

Away game was Syracuse, Washington, UCLA, and Notre Dame (1998 South Bend)

My first home game I remember is Rice in 1977.

What a neat story to be able to tell.

They had to take me to down town BR to get new clothes and I got my first ever pair of corduroy pants. Come lunch time, we all went to Piccadilly's . I was last in line and had ever seen such a display of food in all my life - so I got one of just about everything. Had to put most of it back when we got to the checkout.

I was so ignorant in those days

I had only been to a couple of football games of any kind - and those were at Leesville's Gilbert Field, which was nothing more than a flat piece of gumbo land that they created by bulldozing some dirt up on one side to put the bleachers on.

So when my brother showed me Tiger Stadium I was dumbfounded - I asked him what they did if someone ran off the edges? -

Yep - I thought they played on top of the building. (He explained it to me but I wasn't sure until we got into the stadium.)

All in all it was a trip that will live forever in my mind - as I said before, thru the years, I had told the story as if I were much younger, but since this seemed to have a date-relative purpose, I had to look up when NC played LSU in BR with Choo-Choo Justice and LSU won the game.

Was pleasantly surprised to see a reference to a newspaper clipping describing the game.

1965 Tulane 62-0 home game

Ole Miss away 1967

I can't remember any neutral games back then unless they were bowl games. The most recent one was the Fiesta Bowl 2018 ~ Burrow's coming out party! What a game. 50-yard line seats right behind the Tiger bench. Bucket list for this old lady fan.

Home:
1982 versus 7th ranked Florida St - we won 55-21. Fans were throwing oranges onto the field throughout the game, due to us going to the Orange Bowl that year.

Away:
1991 at Texas A&M where we lost 45-7. The worst stadium I had ever been in. Bottlenecks all throughout the stadium, it took an hour just to get seated.

Neutral:
2009 Capitol One Bowl - Lost to Penn St. We lost 19-17 to Penn St. Abysmal experience in that there were torrential downpours before the game, flooding the tailgate area - people had to piss in the flooded waters in the parking lots, due to a lack of urinals. And the Les Miles offense was terrible, and the field was a big ball of mud - but I’m sure Miles loved it.

I was actually born in 1938 - and that game was played 10 days after my 11th birthday.

So it's even worse - ANY 11 yr old should have been able to jump that shite-puddle - OR had the sense not to try.

Thanks for knocking me down another notch

I presume you were born in '39??

welcome to this side of age gap. There's damned few of us left

That was a great game! We were throwing oranges anticipating going to the Orange Bowl IF we beat the Noles. The announcers were kind of clueless, wondering what was going on. I am still amazed they let the students into the game carrying huge bags of oranges!

Home: Rice 1967, Tigers win 20-14 on a Glenn Smith rushing TD with less than a minute left. Our first year with season tickets.

Away: Rice 1974, a crappy 10-10 tie, but a fun party at Rice U that night. My first game as an LSU student, drove back to BR the next day to see Elton John in the Assembly Center that night, tix were $4.00 in the bleeders.

Neutral: 2007 Sugar Bowl against the "Domers, 41-14 win that was JaMarcus Russell's coming out party. Was fun to get up in them ND faces.
