You forget that one had never started a game before and one has started for 4 years.

2.5 years at an ASU program that was a shitshow with assistant coaches giving the opponents the gameplan in order to get the head coach fired didnt prepare him as well as it should have. Also in a completely different offense, it even takes NFL QBs a while to get comfortable in a new offense. I'd rather give Kelly a chance to actually develop him within our system than trust Herm Edwards did a great job.

Why would we pay $10 million per year to a coach if we dont trust him to actually improve our players with coaching?

If you could read the thread was about how a QB can improve with more time in the system. It was clearly stated that Daniels is not Burrow.

Look what Burrow did at the end of the year compared to the beginning after he had more time to learn the system and they were able to cater the game plan to his strengths

4th year starting.

GTFO with the excuses.

He SHOULD be able to read defenses and make anticipated throws to open receivers.

If it isn't negative about JD most will attack you. They only care about passing yards and tds. Lol

No excuses here. Im satisfied that we are exceeding my (and vegas's) preseason expectations. Only improvement to come from here.

I trust Kelly, he has given me no reason not to.

Yes he should. Why does anyone think he will turn it around at this point? I hope Walker Howard is the real deal next year.

Now do Burrow vs Daniels games 29-34 that they have been starters. This would be an apples to apples comparison.

the same head coach that you think was doing a great job coaching JD for the past 3 years.

Please, Me. KnowItAll, find any post of mine where I even mentioned the coaches at ASU, much less suggested they did a good job coaching him.

If anything, my complaint about JD is that he wasn't well-coached.

The point remains though. He was a starter for three years at ASU. Burrow sat the bench at OSU.

As so many QBs have proven, you get better by playing, and JD has done a lot of it. He should be better by now, but he's not.

They just all had a bad game vs Auburn people. I’m not sure why anyone would think this is it and this is how it’s going to be? I’ve seen the guy play and he can play this position well, they just need to get on the same page and Jayden needs to just start throwing that ball when he sees separation. Our WRs know what to do. I think they also need to be in the indoor facility working on everything they plan to improve on going forward. I wouldn’t stop doing that. I would do it everyday even if we start blowing teams out. Just go out there and have some fun! Jayden is capable of playing that type of football so stop being scared and go for it bro! Your OL is protecting you now. Let’s get it

He’s started in damn near 40 games. He is who he is.

See I can always tell who played football and who simply watches football because those who just watch it have such a generic opinion on these players and teams.

You are so wrong here! It isn’t just a simple fact that he is who he is. There are so many variables to this game that it can affect who a player looks to be. It does matter that he played 4 years of football, which is why you still see him throwing higher completion percentage, 3 times as many TDs to INT’s and why we won 4 games and lost 1 by a point. That’s why you see him coming back from 17-0 to win.

But to say that he can’t improve is just ignorant. He’s still in a new offense. That OC is still trying to gage what they can do and can’t do without losing the game, and they aren’t playing with confidence because of these and other factors. That is what is causing the jumbled up passing attack. That’s why it doesn’t look clean, that’s why they are missing balls in their hands and that’s why Jayden is slightly off. They aren’t reading and reacting, they are thinking about not losing, not putting themselves in a bad position and you can’t play that way.

They need to get together, put some time in together and slowly get better. Then use that on game day and you will see this team start to look much more dynamic. I think it’s going to happen, but I hope they put the time in so the mistakes can be made in practice and not the game. That’s the only difference.

Then he is also the guy who tore it up as a true freshman throwing 17 tds to 2 ints, and nearly 3000 yards and completing over 60% of his passes.

It amazes me how the Daniels lovers always leave out important stats in their arguments like the OP. Burrow had I’m pretty sure never started a college game. And was a Junior. Daniels on the other hand has now started 27-28 games and is a senior. Big difference. Burrow had room to grow experience wise. Daniels is who Daniels is.

The difference is Daniels has had three years of starting experience prior to this year

He doesnt have three years in this system. He has 5 games.

Look at what Jared Goff is doing in his second year with the Lions (most passing td, 3rd most passing yards, leading the nfl in scoring offense). To say a guy is who he is because he has started 3 years is asinine.

No it’s not. He is playing worse now than earlier in the year. There is little chance he will develop into a credible passer. I hope he is not next year’s starter. He is jist not good enough. Simple as that.

??????

You probably shouldn't watch any more games then. Bitching and moaning isnt gonna make Kelly suddenly change his mind on who he thinks gives us the best chance to win.
