Comparing starting lineups with teams that are predicted to be top 10 in 2026

I am just seeing where LSU is picked to be either #10 or #13 in the pre seasgon ranking.
So I have to ask, if you go position by position, on both offense and defense, plus special teams, plus HC's and top assistants, and compare them all, are there really 9 or 12 teams that will put better personnel on the field than LSU?
I find that hard to believe, but maybe the rankers are taking schedule into consideration, and I do believe LSU has one of the hardest in the nation....especially after seeing the schedule that A&M will face.....what a joke that is.

How about we just hold our horses until the games are played.

Georgia, Texas, LSU, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Oregon, Miami, Indiana, Notre Dame
All of the above are the most complete rosters without large question marks…. LSU in the 10-12 range is a safe preseason pick, I wouldn’t look at anything past that

I agree with your point. I really do think this is a very talented roster.
But I sure as hell am not going look at ~10 other rosters to find out.

A lot of transfers and new staff has more to do with it.
I get we are good, but we are new.

good pernt. I just find it hard to believe that there are that many teams with superior personnel than LSU this year. Unless I am really mistaken, this has to be one of the most complete talent wise rosters we have ever had. I have sure bought the hype before, I hope that is not all it is again this year.

I guess I haven't paid enough attention to what OKla and Indiana are going to produce. I thought we were better than OKLa last year and we are way better than our team last year, and Indiana was a flash in the pan with a stud QB. I don't see Indiana coming close to the playoffs this year.

Preseason polls are a mixture of what you did last year and what they expect this year.
LSU is very high in one and very low in the other which is why so many will play it "safe" and rank LSU 10-15th

To be honest I have always been the believer that there should be no rankings the first couple weeks. Nobody knows anything until the football is snapped.
At the end of the day rankings don’t matter until November

I have to see it to believe it
Another reminder that Penn St, LSU and Clemson were all preseason top 5 last year.
There is a streak going where half of the top 10 doesn’t finish ranked. Plus, you have NIL and parody.

I’ve been disappointed way too many times to fall into this trap.

Very few people on this board will be able to answer your question because very few people actually know the ins and outs of other rosters outside of LSU.

Yea there are a lot of unknowns with LSU.IF and it’s a big IF the TIGERS come together as a consistent and focused team then sky is the limit.Im hoping for the latter

I’ve always found it odd that people feel so strongly about this without really knowing much about other teams’ rosters

Your answer lies in the unbiased city of Las Vegas

Both will be really solid. Oklahoma supposedly updgraded the OL and WR room. I could 10-2 for them.
Indiana will another good roster & easy schedule so they will be healthy come winter

I totally agree. We had the number 1 portal class and some great high school recruiting classes. Throw in a top 5 coach in America. We will be in the playoffs THIS season!
