I’ll never understand the band complaints.
Aren’t you there to watch a sporting event? If you’re that invested in the band, go watch a concert or whatever it’s called.

Did y'all know that a HBCU band played at halftime in 4 of the first 5 Super Bowls?
Grambling played at Super Bowls I and II.

Funny thing about those HBCU bands... Most of them are filled with horrible musicians. You see the same thing with many high school bands now. Just blow the brass as loudly as possible and beat the shite out of the drums. They are glorified dance troupes.
The magic of bands like TGBFTL is not half time. It is pregame. It is 3rd down Chinese Bandits. It is the start of the fourth quarter. This is the real tragedy of the piped in garbage music. Every one of those instances should be the band playing.

TGBFTL is awesome. The patriotic shows are legend. I would be inclined to forego the nachos for it but not for some B-grade "entertainment."

HBCU style bands are typically good because the football teams are nothing spectacular.
