Never before has that happened, and we might likely never see that again. Therefore, Collis Temple is useless to the LSU basketball program.

Collis wants to take credit for those guys coming to LSU to try and gain more influence within LSUs baskeball program? Makes sense I guess.

Did you know that Collis Temple was the first African American to play basketball at LSU

This gives him the right to interfere with the current LSU program? How so?

Because he's black and they aren't going to tell him to frick off because he will cause a stir.

Not sure of his influence anymore... james thompson & Bridgewater play AAU for Houston Hoops.. and then some of the younger guys like Wade Sims (wayne's son) and Drake Davis (Lester Earl's son) are playing for Red Storm. Red Storm Sports (mainly Jonathan Pixley & Brock Kantrow) will have control of the new basketball complex that Bernhardt is building at Kenilworth.. not sure what "big" names are going to be going to the Sports Academy once it is built.

Temple has the connections to help LSU. that is not make or break, but help. he is a TREMENDOUS symbolic figure in LSU basketball and you don't go around destroying that and a messy fight with ct2 would definitely help.

if he was irrelevant alleva would have dismissed him and his ideas just as alleva has dismissed the ideas of 1000 rantards.

He has a lot to do with our recruiting. He is in the AAU scene big time and has one hell of an eye for talent. In order for LSU to make it to the final four, our next coach has to be willing to except help from CT. We have to keep our local players and thats what CT can make happen.

ok, so if CT doesn't like who we hire, is gonna refuse to "help" LSU recruit these players that he has connections to?

I agree totally. Arrogant and has no right at all trying to run this program. I've personally had enough of Mr. Temple and his inflated sense of value to this program.

BS, bring in a successful powerful coach who can recruit nationally and the coach can give CT access on his own terms, and if CT doesn't like it then he can take a long walk off a short pier.
We need a Nick Saban type who won't take this kind of crap, when Saban came in he had the power and mentality to nip this crap in the bud....exactly what's needed here.

FYI, the players in the Final 4, less than 15% played for their home state school.

This is what gets me. Highschool coaches AAU coaches or whomever should not influence kids. They should give the kid and family all the information they need and then let the family decide where the kid goes. If he is trying to influence then is he really doing whats best for the kids or himself?

That is exactly what he did with Trent so it would be reasonable to expect him to do it again.

sometimes families need assitance with that type of stuff. I don't have a problem with a coach being part of the decision making process as long as that coach is able to keep his own self bias out of the equation and truly do what is best for the kid or family.

Collis Temple has a huge impact on LSU basketball whether you want to believe it or not. Trent and him did not get along and that hurt Trent's recruiting in state.

Also, Trent is just a terrible recruiter. He isolated himself from alot of high school coaches in LA.. Telling them their kids weren't good enough to play there and whatnot. I'm not making this up.

Welcome to the slimy world of college baskeball recruiting. Many of these kids come from rough backgrounds and neighborhoods. Unfortunately there are alot of adults who, under the guise of "for the best interests of the kid" use the kids for their own personal gains.

So if LSU hires a coach that Temple doesn't like, then he will not help at all and turn recruits away that might otherwise come ??? How in the hell does LSU allow this ?? Sounds like to me this is exactly what he did to TJ while he was here. If this is even close to being true then how long will LSU put up with this crap??? IMO, CT needs to stay away from LSU..

FALSE

Louisiana is a poor basketball talent state. Temple is taking credit for a fluke. TJ wasnt wrong in telling Temple to frick off, he was wrong because he couldn't pull in other talent. A guy who can legitimately recruit nationally will have no problem succeeding here.

Let me know the next time a team in a talent-rich state wins a national championship with mostly in state players......much less a team in a state with very view blue chip BB players....like Louisiana.
