If they were worried about firing bartenders that they thought served under age kids they’d go out of business lol

He's 17 and way too inexperienced to be driving a car with that kind of power. If he was truly not drunk like the police and article are saying, I really think he sped up too quickly on a wet road, lost control and hit the gas in a panic when he was trying to brake.

RWD vehicles with that kind of HP in the rain is a tough ride for a sober, experienced driver.

Alot of speculation in this thread but I'll just say. Hope he's ok, no matter the cause, that crash looks scary.

Show me the facts and show me what's speculation.

The facts are he was driving a RWD vehicle with too much power to handle. My speculation is that he was probably turning onto Nicholson Extension from Highland and started accelerating before completing his turn, and lost traction from the wet road.

If you've ever driven a RWD vehicle on a wet road there's a solid chance you've felt this before and know how scary it can be the first time. He likely panicked and stomped on the gas when he was trying to brake.

Sorry if I missed it, but do we know he was the one driving?

Officials said Hurley was unresponsive but breathing. A crash report said firefighters pulled Hurley out of his vehicle. He was in and out of consciousness and had a large cut on his face.
No mention of anyone else involved in the wreck, but he was pulled out of a car that was his.

If he was going too fast, then he was going too fast. That's a long stretch of road. If he wanted to go 60 mph, he was going to go 60 mph no matter how much horsepower his car had. Saying that he "likely" accidentally stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake is wild.

Do we know where on the road the wreck occurred? I'm willing to ditch my theory and go with he was being a young jackass speeding if it was nowhere near a turn.

Have you ever driven a Dodge Charger or similar RWD vehicle in the rain?

ETA: he is also only 17 so has been driving for two years at most. it's ridiculous we keep giving drivers with so little experience access to these powerful cars they can't handle.

Yes. You are coming up with theories on what "likely" happened and you don't even know what road it happened on?

Wait you looked at that picture of the wreck and don't think that he was speeding?

He was very likely speeding, but speeding alone doesn't cause you to wreck.

I already said where I think it was, and the article says "at highland road and south quad drive" which would be right at a turn.

Its a key piece of evidence. It is good that this was made known to the public.

It's hilarious that you say this then immediately follow it with 2 paragraphs of your own uneducated speculation.

I'm glad you can read, but try harder.

I restated the facts: he is a relatively inexperienced driver trying to handle a car with too much power on a wet road

Then I stated my speculation just like everyone else on this thread who's insisting he's drunk because of a picture of him just standing there, despite the report stating impairment isn't suspected.

As someone who's actually driven a powerful, RWD car in the rain, that shite can get scary quick if you get on the gas before fully completing a turn.

Believe what you want to believe. It really doesn't matter and doesn't change the fact that Hurley only hurt himself and we still don't know his short or long term condition. It's sad that so many want to pile on this guy at his lowest moments without knowing the full truth.

No you made a statement that he “likely” accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake.
