Any news on Colin Hurley? He’s still listed on the roster and is taking a leave for personal reasons, but I haven’t read any news since then.

if he couldn't see the field this season, I doubt he ever will

Ricky Williams 2

The update is he's a poster child for why really young kids shouldn't reclassify. He was 16 when he enrolled at LSU. It's just not healthy for a kid that young to be away from his family. There's a lot of growing up that happens between 16 and 18.

True.. but there were some broken promises made also.. hopefully everything is or get back on track and he has great career and life.

What promises? That he was going to start? That almost never works out. Just like the "coach in waiting" title.

From what I know, his focus hasn't been on football since he arrived.
I wish him well in his future, but I don't anticipate him to remain on roster

Care to share these promises made with the class?

He can’t and won’t because there are none. Hurley was young for his class and reclassifying only magnified the problem. Emotional immaturity held him back. Another year of high school would helped him immensely.

The kid and his situation at LSU as a whole, is weird.

He won't be on the roster moving forward is the word.

I wonder why he skipped his senior season. Players usually only do that if they’re elite enough to play as a freshman.

I think LSU kinda "encouraged" him a little bit after the QB dominoes fell the way they did

LSU is in a real bind at QB next year. I keep hearing “transfer portal 1 maybe 2” and I say “2 is a minimum” because you have 0 right now. You really need 3 from the portal.
I guess Johnson is really going to be 3rd option next year at QB and if it comes to that Lane will go full on wildcat triple option.

Kid has some serious off the field issues he should handle before he thinks about going play ball somewhere.

I thought he was still only 18 years old. That’s still very young and he has time for him to get his life straight or whatever is going on with him.
