I like how this kid played last night, he made great plays and was a blanket on the receivers all night. He actually played way better than I expected and he looks legit.

The DB's played really well overall, although they definitely looked like a unit that was playing together for the first time last night.

Not sure anybody on that defense look "legit" last night. FSU only punted twice and our defense looked as bad as any since before Saban.

Aside from the trick play TD I thought Garner played well. Wish he would have come up with that pick in the end zone

Were you in a coma the last 2 years? That was leaps and bounds better than the 2020 or even 2021 defenses.

Go re watch the UCLA game or Mizzou game from 2020 and report back.

Agree. Out corners covered well. But our linebackers need A LOT of cover coaching on that underneath zone. Hard to tell about the safeties but it looked mostly shallow zone linebackers. When a player comes in your zone you can not stand 5 yards from them. Basic stuff.

Last night was as bad as either of those years and against a mediocre ACC team. FSU punted twice and our great talent fumbled both of them

We only punted twice so what’s your point? The Defense wasn’t great on 3rd down but I don’t think they were as bad as your saying they were. I thought it was a good not great performance in the first game.

They now have game tape to go over and improve with. Rome wasn’t built overnight and people expecting immediate results need to relax. It’s going to get better as the season goes along.

Be PATIENT!!

All 3 corners played really well.

That deep ball over converse was just a perfect throw.

Florida state got lucky plenty of times. The blitz would never get home or travis would luckily spin out.

2 punts
Forced a 47 yard field goal
Fumble and a TOD.

It wasn’t exactly a terrible performance.

They scored 24 points while getting good field position a couple times.

Our rush was, while not nonexistent, couldn’t get the Qb on the ground. He threw pretty accurately on the run too. It’s hard too hold coverage that long. We didn’t tackle well most of the game. All fixable and I think CBK will. Let’s look for steady improvement over the season

Was he the DB that tipped down the would-be corner end zone TD?

A- We all know that’s not going to happen. House runs zone as a base and isn’t going to stop.

B- We don’t really have the depth to play a ton of man, especially while Foucha is still out and the freshmen aren’t ready for prime time.
