Cam Rob didn't play games.

But Mike Davis started out good didn't really pan out, plus we've had other stellar wrs. Torishiro Davis hasn't done anything.

I know there are others.

Justin Hunter was good, but had injuries.

Kiel, transferred from ND. Looks like a good qb, but hasn't had to play as tough defenses as he would have at LSU or ND.

So most of the higher profile guys didn't amount to anything.

The fact that LSU fans get amusement out of players screwing up. I get the message board stuff. But keeping a running list of Louisiana high school players who sign out of state, then ultimately screw up?

It's kind of sad that it bothers you...

No one has taken amusement in these guys getting arrested in this thread.

He must be talking about other threads since this one is correlating bad character with players who go out of their way to deceive the LSU staff during the recruiting process.

CRob probably doesn't belong on the OPs list, but his character is in question now.

Honestly, I think it's a character issue to leave the state the way some do....intentionally fricking w LSU. And many continue to tweet and post negative LSU stuff. That shows lack of character and class.

So to me, it's not just a coincidence that they end up doing low character actions.

It's current news, it's related to Louisiana, and it's the off season. I don't really see the problem. Now, if we are still talking about this next Tuesday, then you might have a point.

If the report is correct, am I the only one who finds it scary that these guys were sitting in a public park at 2:30 a m with one of them having a gun in his lap??

You do realize just how much smoke there was around Benton and LSU thanks to his recruitment and what went down with his primary recruiter, right?

It was nooooooooooooowhere near that cut and dry.

Fill in the blanks for me.

CRob was never coming to LSU. His dad was employed by bama to shuttle Monroe kids to bama camps.

Coincidence that kids who play the recruiting game with LSU, & sign elsewhere.. by Dan Bilzerian

I used to think it was an insignificant thing made up on message boards like this, but lately it is getting hard to ignore.

I don't think LSU is doing something special, and I don't think it really matters if they play the game or not, but if you're an in-state guy that LSU wants and you go elsewhere, there seems to be a significant correlation to character problems down the road.

The more I think about it, the less surprising it actually becomes. Most of these guys are born and raised in LA, and to "spurn" LSU when they want you often indicates that being close to home and your family may not be the biggest priority for you. Let me be clear, leaving this state happens all the time and it certainly isn't a lock that you'll have problems, but when LSU football comes calling, there are very few, if any, situations that are any better for your future.

We pull kids form states all across the country for various reasons, so this isn't some nationwide epidemic, but for whatever reason it seems to bite LA guys in the arse if they leave. I don't believe they're immediately a bad character guy for choosing to go somewhere else, but it seems that their character can certainly lead to that kind of decision.

I was thinking similar. I have a feeling he will find trouble before he is done at Bama.

Kenny Young shouldn't be grouped with these guys. He never said anything against LSU and you can't knock a kid for taking a free ride to UCLA.

Let's just say Benton's lead recruiter almost cost us Rueben Randle, and that his handling of Benton caused him to become the first ever position coach during the Les Miles Era at LSU to lose his job prior to "finding another job," elsewhere in the profession.

He resigned. At the request of the AD.

None of which was DeAngelo Benton-nor Rueben Randle's-fault.

Good list but I nominate Janzen Jackson for the poster child.
