Some of you guys are forgetting that sone mid week scrub from Bama with about 15 innings pitched on the year dominated us for 8 2/3 innings last week.

Don't tell me that either ULL or SHSU don't have a guy or two as good as Olypock. (no idea how to spell it)

Just my thoughts.

You start Newman tomorrow and you may use up the pen a bit. Doubt he goes more than 6, even against JSU.

Yeah, but then you have the advantage of using the scoreboard to your advantage and going with the bottom of your bullpen if you have a nice lead. shite, if we have a 6+ run lead we can pitch Kevin Berry the rest of the way. That would have zero effect on the bullpen.

If you start Eades, and he goes the same 5 or 6, you won't be able to use him again, even with a huge lead.

With this format, the likelihood that Nola goes deep in game 2, and the fact that we just lost a starter, I don't see the value in protecting your bullpen over preserving a starter for game #3.

The only reason to start Eades tomorrow is if you think Jackson St. is a threat against someone behind Eades. Does anyone really think that?

Honestly, i'd be alot more worried about this weekend if we were going on the road for a regional. I'd bet on us to lose. But at home, regionals, this type of year, I think we win regardless of who is out there.

I read that Newman "replaced" Glenn on the roster for regionals.

How can that possibly be true? Were they seriously not going to have Newman on the roster before this suspension?

What, the, frick

replaced his role probably not his spot.

All this does, besides get us all nervous, is make Game2 ten times more important (not that it wasn't important already).

With Glenn out, I DO NOT want us having to come out of the losers bracket and have to play 2 extra games.

All bets are off if we have to come out of the losers bracket, its be hard for us to win that, we cannot slip up

I would disagree

while Glenn would give us game 3 in the lossers bracket its still tough to beat a team twice in a row when they already beat you. It makes it more difficult to come out of it but I don't think it increases the importance.

I hate to tell you but that Bama scrub was pitching out of his mind. He looked like a great pitcher to me. Probably going to be a starter for them next year. It wasn't like he was hanging breakers over the plate all day and LSU was whiffing. He was throwing some pretty nasty stuff. Give credit where it's due.

I'm glad someone finally said it. We almost lost to fricking Northwestern State this year. In baseball, anything can happen. Not sure why everyone is set on us going to Supers already. Stony Brook should've shown everyone that anything can happen.

I'm terrified of ULL going full Brandon Larson on McCune on Sunday.

and do you remember what the average SEC tourney game was like, noone (don't include the vandy MSU game) was hitting the ball well, most teams scored no more then 3 runs a game. Offense was hard to find in hoover, and will be easier to find in Baton Rouge.

You guys seriously have nothing to worry about. We have one good pitcher. Your worst pitcher would either be our #2 starter or top bullpen guy. We might win one game but no way do I see us winning two.

Miami was playing horrible baseball at that time. Its not like Stoney Brook came out of a national seeded bracket.

Yea, an example of a scrub dominating when he shouldn't would be Stoney Brook last year. That third game was terrible. He wasn't even throwing anything great but LSU was just pressing and getting dominated. This Bama "scrub" had some nice velocity and a good mix of pitches that threw LSU off all game.

Glenn looked like shite at the beginning of the year before he ended up dominating. Don't forget that. "Scrubs" can have great games too.
