The #3 talk didn't make any sense to me, considering the fact that we were #1 with nearly a 100 point lead in Harris last week, and I just can't see that changing all that much.

I think it was a based on the "experts" trying to predict what the computers would do. They were saying that the Big 12 would be rated highly; and, combined with LSU having Northwestern St on the schedule, they figured that would be enough to get Oklahoma the top spot.

Speculating on what a computer might do is pretty dumb, IMO.

Why does that computer have us behind Bama when it says we have a better SOS?

All those rankings by Sagarin are not necessarily related to each other, and some use only bits and pieces of Sagarin's numbers to generate a result.

I'm aware that you're impressed with your wins over Samford, Tusculum, Western Carolina, Elon, Chattanooga, and Furman, all of which put up big points on GSU, but GSU wouldn't remotely hang with any team in the Top 25.

Shows how much you know about I-AA football, or reading my entire post.

Wofford, who GSU plays later this year, lost to undefeated Clemson by only 1 TD. They led Clemson in the 3rd quarter (obviously game was @ Clemson). They gave Clemson a better game than Troy, Boston College, Maryland, Virginia Tech or Auburn did. GSU last year, who isnt as good as we are now, beat Wofford @ Wofford in the playoffs.

Once again, it's unfortunate GSU is playing Alabama this year, because we could beat a ton of I-A teams, and possibly upset MANY current Top 25 teams. Having a week to prepare for the triple option, which GSU and Wofford both run, is not easy. Especially when you have some really good players like both schools do.

Seeing Sagarin & coaches' poll, my BCS projection is 1 LSU, 2 Bama, 3 OU

This is kinda funny, since ESPN has said this am[BEFORE POLLScame out] That Edwards had it OU, Bama, and LSU.

Yea, I saw that too. That's why I posted that tweet. He was obviously trying to predict what the computers would do, and now he sees he had it wrong. Kind of silly to guess what a computer is going to do.

Man, you showed me.

Again, GSU wouldn't score on the top 10, and would lose to the Top 25 by 3 TD's. If you can't stop those garbage teams that nobody's ever heard of, any real team would literally crush you. Saying that "people will be surprised" how you play Alabama is beyond foolish. Remember the "National Champion" Appy State fans saying similar things on the way to being down by 31 at the half not scoring any points until garbage time?

Yeah, I kind of did. Not my fault you are clearly ignorant on FCS/I-AA football.

You keep saying GSU wouldnt even score on a Top 10 team and lose to every Top 25 team by 3+ TDs. It seems like you keep COMPLETELY ignoring the FACT Wofford, who we play shortly and won @ Wofford last year, nearly beat Clemson @ Clemson THIS YEAR. Last I checked, Clemson is a Top 10 undefeated team. Last I also checked, Virginia Tech and Auburn are Top 25 teams who failed to give Clemson as good of a game as little ole I-AA/FCS Wofford did. Keep failing to recognize this fact though. GSU is the #1 team in FCS.

I would just like to say that the AP poll has never been more relevant.

Laugh at Georgia Southern being up there that high but we could beat the majority of I-A teams this year. By no means will we beat or come close to beating Alabama, but people will be surprised how well we play in that one...assuming we dont rest our starters for the playoffs at that point.

Wofford was beating Clemson in the 3rd quarter and Clemson needed a 4th quarter TD to beat them by a TD. Wofford gave Clemson more of a game than Troy, Maryland, Boston College, Virginia Tech and Auburn did.

you are generally a good poster.....i think your bias is showing towards ga southern and clemson. Both would go 0-8 in the SEC. (I stand corrected, 1-7, Ole miss is in the conference I forgot). Btw, Maryland was winning by 18 at one point....

There's no bias in this. Generally the best I-AA teams in any given year can easily COMPETE at the I-A level. Once again none of them would be Top tier over the course of an entire season but we are talking about 1-game approaches here. Wofford was 1 TD away from undefeated Clemson. CLEARLY some top I-AA teams can and do compete well with good I-A teams. GSU and Wofford could absolutely compete with many Top 25 teams this year and on some occasions potentially beat them...Wofford nearly did it.

And as far as both Wofford and GSU going 0-8 or 1-7 in the SEC this year, it would depend entirely on the schedule. Both could (notice I said could, not would) go as good as 3-5 if Vandy, Kentucky and Ole Miss all came up on the schedule. They also have the potential to upset any team in the conference not named LSU, Alabama and Arkansas who would manhandle them. Nobody else stands out in the SEC this year except those 3 teams. On a bad day; UGA, UT, UF, USCe, MSU and AU could lose to these teams.

Georgia Southern is a damn good football team. It would take some breaks but they could beat some FBS "names." Think they might be able to take the bottom quarter of the SEC.

I'm a huge LSU fan but graduated GSU in 1993. Nice to see another Eagle that's an LSU fan.

I expect we'll get killed by Alabama this year but we have played some top tier teams well ….FSU leading in the 4th quarter, Auburn up 17 at the half, and some other. Depth shows up in the 4th quarter and these were losses. Also the Oregon St. game a couple of years ago ended something like 44 to 37 with us having the ball on their 20 hard line.

Let's not forget App St. beating Michigan. 1AA can beat 1A teams but few and far between.

Kind of cool to have the #1 team in both levels.
