Meyer is on the list because every coach in the SEC is on the list. It's a ranking of all 12 coaches from the hottest hot seat to the least.

money is already there to buy him out. I agree if LSU flirts with .500 in the SEC, he is gone.

You can't estimate the heat on a coach based off the rantings of a few on a message forum or phone calls to a radio station. Show me one comment from LSU or the powers that be that back up the "hot seat" or he's history if so and so doesn't happen BS.
1-8 the last 2 years against top 25 teams, Miles cant be gone fast enough for me

So, you are one of those guys that believes everything you read? I guess you actually believe the world will end in 2012?! Urban is one of the Elite Coaches and if you disagree, then you are CRAZY

The writer is clearly in the "results only" camp. This should make the Miles apologists positively giddy. He is basing his evaluation on overall W/L record, which has been the standard talking point of the Miles fans.

The writer gets an EPIC FAIL in my book, because he fails to understand one basic point -- all results must be viewed in terms of context. When viewed in the appropriate context, Miles' record really isn't that impressive.

The context I am referring to is as follows: Miles inherited a national power, only 1 season removed from a National Title. The cupboard was fully stocked. His results should reflect, as such. Louisiana is a per-capita recruiting gold mine. Miles should be recruiting well. Miles' continually makes confounding in-game decisions which clearly do not put his teams in the best position to win. His recent results show a downward trend for LSU football.

It's all about context people. Viewed in a vacuum, it is clear to me that the Miles apologists would have never supported the dismissal of coaches like Cooper, Coker, Carr and Shula, just to name a few.

I'm thinking many of them would have kept Archer, too.

He's here two years if he wants to be.

His success, the buyout, and the finacial crisis in this state for colleges all point to his remaining though the 11 season

I can't see the future any more than anyone else can, but that's my take. We will see.

Something the nut jobs on this site and others should consider may be who are we going to get if Miles gets tired of a bunch of panty waist yahoos calling for his blood. If someone comes a knocking, who will those great LSU (i have a key board but never go to games) fans going to get?

I don't care if Miles is on the Hot Seat. His poor work ethic and disorganized management has rendered his achievements, almost irrelevant.

Many LSU fans are VERY distracted by the chaos. I know FOR SURE, I am not just a bit dismayed.

Let him go to Michigan, let NOT the door hit him in the lazy azz.

Dinardo was fired after a 4 and 3 win season. Way to show how delusional you are...Calling for a coaches head after a 9 win season and a New Years Day bowl and comparing it to a coach who was fired after winning 7 games in his last two years.

Well, we may "flirt" with it, but I doubt seriously we achieve it, and we certainly won't exceed it.

Average is in the eye of the beholder

Yes, and so is elite. That's the salary we're paying, so the results better match it.

it would 3rd in the west or 5th or 6th in the SEC.

So, you'd be satisfied paying a top-5-in-the-country salary to a guy who can't come within 3 games of winning his own fricking division for three years in a row?
quote:

I will be surprised if anything happens concerning Miles employment at LSU that he doesn't want to happen.

Unfortunately, so will I. LSU administrators tend to reflect the mentality of our fans. Stupid-arse satisfaction with mediocrity. Why LSU is so god-damned lenient with shitty coaches, and why our fans so blindly follow such moronic coaches, is beyond me. I guess I just have to accept that the whole god-damned state is full of morons. We aren't 50th in the country in everything good for nothing, I guess. Wallow in shite, Louisiana, if you will let the only decent thing in the state sink into the abyss with everything else.
