He is immature and cost his team
He came into Omaha with his chest puffed out ready to fight anyone and eveyone.
Jay Johnson was talking about how the two of them are friends. The broadcast said that the two talked on the phone this week in Omaha about strategy. But go watch the pre series press conference where the two coaches greeted each other and took a picture with the trophy. One coach was happy and good to see the other whle the other coach is snarling and ready to snap at anyone who mis pronounces his team's stupid mascot.

It was. Here is what happened. Ump warned 1st base coach. HC said why? HC again said why? Ump said for arguing balls and strikes. HC said well you have missed three pitches. Ejection happened. He came out of the dugout to ask about the warning to his coach, not to argue balls and strikes.
You missed a lot
Rewind again. See if you can spot the F bomb and him begging to be ejected.
“Or fricking what?!” is something you say when you are intentionally trying to get tossed

I don’t think he was out of control. He was asked his perspective on the ejection and he voiced his experience. He credited LSU and our coach. Said his team had a great year and he was sorry it’s over.
He said he isn't sorry for what happened. He said he's a 48 year old man and no one is going to shoo him back to the dugout. He mocked the other umpire's athletiticism for falling down.
All class that guy is.

well, he did have eight innings in time out to compose himself
This is great

Well look at his 1st base coach. His coach is halfway down the line screaming at the ump. He breeds a culture of “us vs the world” and they have been allowed to act ridiculous. His coach should never feel he has the ability to act like an arse. And in that moment, Schnall decided to double down instead of reeling his coach in. He got exactly what he deserved

Take out the hate because you’re an LSU fan and watch exactly what happened and it was a very bad ejection.
Maybe he was a victim of his own reputation. The guy is a fricking a-hole meathead.

Baseball is a game of edge. If they got pissed off that any of our coaches tried to get an edge, welcome to baseball.
We got screwed on tons of pitches yesterday and held our composure. If he was so pissed after one inning, his team was going to lose because he couldn't hold it together.
He got tossed because he became irate during his questioning. If he takes a different, calmer posture, that ends differently.
The umpire had the right to toss him, and did. I would have liked to see the umpire use a little more judgement in the situation. He gave them a slight excuse for getting their arse handed to them in the championship.
Coastal talked a big fcking game, but didn't play one. They tried to talk themselves into being SEC caliber. They're good, but talk is cheap.

Did Schnall call Jay Johnson "Jake Johnson" in the press conference?

They know they are never getting back here
Probably right. School payments and NIL will likely kill these G5 schools' chances.

I love how he started with " I own it" to end with antidotes and grievances. He is a clown.

I’m just getting on here so I haven’t read anything. Has anybody mentioned he was chirping pretty bad in between top and bottom of 1st inning? Then a few pitches later in bottom it all went down.

Meaning, they agreed with what happened. Just wondered if given the stakes, should you be more lenient.
Tried multiple times and turned around. Johnson was tossed earlier this season for much less

You forgot to add when asked to go back to his dugout, he said “or what?! Or fricking what!?”
Ultimately this is what got him tossed

I just watched it , and he was even more douchey today than the previous ones
Posted on 6/22/25 at 7:26 pm to Choupique19
He also tried to physically intimidate the officiating staff and one of them fell due to his physicality . They are not putting up with that . He cost his team a chance to win by being a jackwagon .
