CPM . . .did a heck of a job getting the team to a #8 seed and has won 5 of the last SECT's.. . . I am disappointed the team didn't advance but it's not like I expected them to necessarily make it to Omaha nor win a title

Since CPM has been at LSU, no team has more CWS appearances than LSU except North Carolina--who has never won the title. A couple have the same # of appearances, but none have more. That won't change this year.

So, if we are going to grade CPM based on CWS appearances alone, he's still doing pretty good.

Yes, I'm disappointed in last night. Especially the hitting. A pitching staff throwing its 5th game in 4 days shouldn't be able to shut down LSU's bats like that.

But, this year they are not going to the CWS for the one-th year in a row.

On the other hand, Ole Miss and UL-L will be playing for the chance to break their respective 42, and 13 year streaks without an appearance.

this was absolutely our year though with all the teams going down.. the way we got to host.. nola's last season.. it just sucks to end this way when we were rolling with a 4-0 lead and a pitcher with an incredibly low pitch count going strong. 0-2 in omaha with that much talent last year sucked, but i don't blame coach PM on that.. this year's end was really a goof. all in all i like and appreciate PM for the most part and glad he is here..

This. Last years team was the most talented in the country, but when they go to the CWS they all wanted to glory of the big fly and it cost them a chance at the title. That was more on the players than the coaches IMO. This years team wasn't as talented, but was on a hot streak at the right time that could have taken them all the way. Bad coaching decisions this regional cost this team a shot.

But we would like for him to explain his pitching strategy on Sunday.
What good would that do?

We don't raise flags for SEC Tournament titles around here.

You are living in the past and destined for disappointment. Multiple programs which had great success in Omaha have struggled to get back with all the changes in the game since 2008, + the shite show of a new stadium.

No other than Skip Bertman said the SECT was the toughest event to win in baseball, even more difficult than the CWS. That may have changed with the CWS change to best of 3 instead of a singular title game, but it is still a great achievement.

This team was hampered by lack of quality starting arms due to injuries early on and pre-season, plus the need for some additional productive hitters. When a team has to go to a rotisserie bullpen approach to make up for quality starters the risk of failure increases. Dunn, in that respect, was outstanding and effectively replacing 2 good SEC starters from last year although one remained on the roster.

I don't want him out. I just want answers. And I think it's time we get a very good hitting coach.

Amen. It seems like everyone except Bregs is content with hitting long fly ball outs.

Oh, is that all we needed. Pitchers and hitters. It's a baseball team !!!!!!!

We have the best stadium in all of college baseball, the best fans in all of college baseball and we can't recruit pitchers and hitters. The fish rot's from the head down.

People act like going to the World Series is like going to a national championship!! 8 teams go to the World Series. 16 teams go to a super regional. Saying LSU overachieved this year? By finishing 17th-32nd? Come on, they choked. The chips fell perfectly in place to go to Omaha this year.

Dunn is my hero.

Why is this? We have like 3.5 serviceable arms, and 1.5 of those are not consistent.

Why does Dunn get such a pass on this board?

i guess you're thinking you'd be the pitching coach and we'd lead the nation with however many shutouts we had, like 16 of them?

Huh? Where would you get that? I figure if we cant hold a team below 12...it aint the best pitching job.

I am ok with it, because it is sports, and in sports shite happens...but seems everyone else wants someone fired all the time.
