H-Back is generally a TE/FB hybrid that lines up 1 yard off the LOS and usually inside the tackle box (example B gap). H backs can be used to kick out on power, block backside of split zone, help in pass protection, ect. H-Backs for the most part are used in Shotgun formations. Good enough for you?
Have you ever heard of the running back being called a Half back??? Use some context clues

“ it’s crazy”
That’s pretty much been the case since November 2015 with LSU football. A lot of crazy stuff, imo, has been going on.
But, it’s Coach O‘s team, Coach O‘s OC, Coach O‘s QB, and coach O’s life as the LSU head football coach. The good or bad from here on out rest squarely on the shoulders of Coach O.
I certainly hope it works out for him, LSU, and us.

I think Washington exposed some weaknesses at DB for Auburn. And some of their starters aren't 100%.
We need to bring it to them all night. Quick passes and screens to keep their LBs honest, up-tempo to discourage the up-field rush from their DEs, and hit em deep on 2nd and short or 1st and 10.
Did you see how the up-tempo and quick passes killed the Bears' great pass rush on Monday night? Took them right out of the game. Then they would look further down the field once Rodgers had time.
It is truly simple to scheme. Execution is where the rub is.

Yes but today's terminology H-Back refers to what I explained in my post. OP was being a arse toward Coach E for working hard so I pointed out that his assertion was dumb and made no sense in today's terms.

You are probably right but if somebody is gonna try to trash a coach for his X and O knowledge you should try to at least get the terminology correct.
And how many times have we handed the ball off to a TE/H-back??

Did he mention it was 8:30 while watching Matlock reruns?

I don't think any but I'm not sure how this is relevant.

Didn't you spent the whole offeseadon telling people Slinger was gonna roll and Burrow was ready?
The WHOLE offseason.
But in ree's defense, he did the exact same thing last year with the Canada hire. Cheerleading and pumping up the crowd is what ree does best.
It's part of his job.

The OP was referencing HB Dives. Not sure if I’ve ever heard of H-back dive run plays. Hence my context clues comment. Just pointing out that HB/RB are still used interchangeably.
Not bashing you for defending E. I agree, why bash someone for putting in the extra work. Wasn’t it reported last year that Aranda slept at the facility as well?

Great post and explanation.
Only problem is RB,HB and TB are interchangeable.
Your post addressed the old school wing (WB). As the game developed and the FB position gets used less, the "wing" has become a hybrid FB/TE that you described.
All in all, it's laughable that someone cuts down another poster for using "HB" instead of your preferred "RB" and not addressing the post. Any one that has any knowledge of football knew exactly what he was posting about.

He used the binder for a pillow. If he slept in his office, at lease you know he really cares.

Had plenty of time to work on the offense and waits until the last minute? That's why the offense looks like shite! GENIUS!

There was a thread on here bragging about how they came up with three gameplans for Miami. Now they can't even come up with one for Auburn?
Gotcha. I missed that one.
I'll sit down and shut up now.

Teaching proper execution. That is what Saban has long said is more important than innovative schemes and strategy.
He's even telling the entire world that on his TV special that's been running on ESPN.
What you do is important, but how you do it is what separates you from the other decent programs.
Saban moves on from Lane Kiffin and doesn't miss a beat on offense.
We meanwhile spent the last 19 months trying to figure out what we're doing and we still haven't figured it out.
