Don't take everything that Coach O says so literally, people.

I think O is more or less talking about yardage. Who cares what the percentages are as long as the yardage is 50-50 and the offense moves the ball, I could care less. I'm sure most fans feel the same way.

You're right...Canada knows where the talent is.

And it's with #5 running the ball...not an average to slightly above average QB, a green receiving corp, and an Oline that isn't great at pass blocking.

I'd be willing to bet that Guice's rushing yards per attempt (7.6 ypg last year) will be very close to Etling's yards per pass attempt this season.

Normally that would be a ridiculous statement, but I bet it won't be off by more than a yard or so.

Guice is going to have sooo many long runs.

Do you really want Etling throwing the ball more than 28 times per game (based on 70 play average)?

I don't.

He averaged 24.5 pass attempts per game last year. Wasn't that too far off from 28.

And I hope our passing game is more efficient under Canada than it has been in the past. Like Lester said, hopefully we will have more of a short passing attack under Canada which is pretty much just an extension of the running game.

i think 40/60 pass/run ratio at best.

probably closer to 50/50, with 20% of the passes being long handoffs or very close to the LOS.

We get THAT performance out of DE every game and we are looking at a championship.

If he can score 2 TDs by passing alone every game, I DGAF what his percentages are, we are looking at a good chance at a championship.

Maybe he was talking about yardage. That would be reasonable.

50/50 run pass is NOT going to happen. That's more than 35 passes per game folks.

50/50 is like Texas tech air raid.

Well maybe that's an exaggeration

For real who gives a frick what he does against the Ags. We need this against Auburn, Alabama, and Florida. Those three games are the season.

Etlings healthy and focused. He's worked very hard so I expect much improved play out of him. Last year wasn't horrible either. His inability to follow through with his throws explain his issues vs the better D's who could get to him quickly. I don't think he will avg 250 a game but 220 range is attainable.

Etling threw the ball 28 times vs. Texas A&M, completing 20 of them for a completion percentage of 71%....For 324 yards. Sure, I'm okay with Etling throwing it 28 times a game.

Especially if he has feeling in his frickin legs now after surgery! Don't understand the Etling hate? Kid was a breath of fresh air after watching Jennings/Harris fumble frick around the last 3 years

If O really allows him to run the offense, we're not going to be disappointed for long. As long as they can get the kinks worked out,
The only "Kinks" this Offense will face is the kind that Matt Canada can't fix.

Canada can only do so much with play calling and scheme.

OL is going to kill the season as far as this team reaching full potential.

We're all going to be disappointed in the big SEC games because of inferior OL talent and coaching.

I'm just gonna sit back and watch it all unfold because I'm a realist and know what's coming............

I think y'all might be missing the point. Perhaps O doesn't know what 50-50 means.

Maybe he thinks it means comme ci comme ça, neither good nor bad.

No doubt. Usually when a coach talks about ratios, he's talking about plays.

This rite here. DE didn't win every game but we were def. in it and didn't have to suffer through strait retarded QB play. I think he'll manage this team well and surprise quite a few of the skeptics.

Just actually having the threat of a passing game means that we won't open up against 8-9 in the box. Actually having a passing game will open Guice up.

Chark is fast. I am good with him catching a 7 yard slant and running another 15-20.

You need to do a little research on the type of offense we run before you post something like this

Pitt 2016 - 37/63 LSU 2015 - 35/65 Just for reference.

Yeah, I think there is a lot of confusion about Canada's offense. He plays to strengths. With Guice in the backfield, we are absolutely going to be run first. He did it at Pitt. But, when he sees a way to exploit an opponent with a more pass heavy scheme he will switch. He did this in prep for Clemson and he stated so. In that game they threw 37 times and ran 33.

It's going to be refreshing to see an OC that gameplans and makes in-game adjustments.
