Boxcar, many of us are really appreciative towards the positive feedback from LSU fans like you and others. Life sucks at times, it’s tough at times for many, you have to work hard to make lemonade out of lemons. Most LSU fans love where Coach O and the Tigers are heading. up Baby!

This year should give us a more clear picture of where we are headed. I'm optimistic but we still need to take steps to become champs.

Roger, my two are strengthen the Oline, and be aggressive offensively.

I agree
Unless you’re Alabama you sorta have the periods of ramping up.
5th year QB, tons of people returning on both sides of the ball. Serious talent coming in at every positions of need.
It is definitely a yearnuou need to really make some noise. 10-3 and you have to start looking to change somethings, and some seats will be hot.
Idk I like The Brady hire. I hope He has a big influence. There was definitely a gap between what E said he wanted and what E put out in the field last year, and I think Brady May be the guy to help bridge that gap.

[Mike] Kuchar [runs football-research company X&O Labs] thinks the RPO originated at Purdue during the Joe Tiller–Drew Brees era... ...Kuchar also mentioned Penn State offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead as someone designing the best RPOs in the NCAA.
If this is true it makes Brady's intersection between Brees/Saints and Moorhead very interesting.

I do too, I believe he will help the QBs quite a bit.

You're not aware that Payton assigned Joe Brady to develop an RPO package for Taysom Hill?
You keep saying this, but you’re not substantiating it.
I think Brady was probably involved in working on RPOs but you didn’t see that many of them from the saints, and I doubt We had a guy in staff to run packages for a 3rd string QB who threw 8 passes.

You don't know where LSU is headed any more than I do. 5-3 in the SEC is not up from 2017. It's down.
1-5 against Saban, Jimbo, and Mullen is not impressive. Having an OC whose offense is below that of a guy we fired three years ago is also not impressive. 10-3, 5-3 hasn't been impressive for LSU football in years no matter how much some want to see it as impressive now.
We all want to be positive of LSU's chances to win the west. Some of us just look at LSU football with open eyes.

Don't blame LSU or Coach O, blame it on your spouse or old age.

Assuming of course LSU doesn’t extend Orgeron for 19-7 and a win over an AAC team
Le sigh

That gap was a terrible o line. With Brady, LSU finally will move into the 21st century.

It's a fact LSU hasn't been close to Bama. O's recruiting though will help close the gap. Recruiting under Miles was a fallacy in his last few years. Miles would sign a highly rated wr, rb and db and it would inflate the ranking. O is working hard to evenly distribute the talent.
His coaching acumen is tbd. One huge positive for O is he continues to recruit multiple qb's. Miles appeared to be content with signing one "bad" qb every other year or so. The 19 season will be telling. LSU is loaded. Let's see what O does.

The entire offensive line wasn't terrible. There is plenty of room for improvement. Mostly at the tackle position which will help LSU at the edge tremendously. Hopefully they won't have running backs trying to block elite edge rushers.

Ben, where the hell have you been? You had me worried.

this, more of us should not focus only on the negative aspects of the team and see more in the context of the program as a whole.
For example many posters will point out that we lost 3 games without looking at the context of two losses being very close road games against very tough SEC foes (7th ranked Florida and 16th ranked Texas AM) one of which was very highly influenced by what many nationally believed to be very negatively biased and controversial officiating (thus the incongruent relative to the 10-3 record of a #6 final poll ranking)

I had the dreaded post quality and quantity count but I've also just had a particularly brutal round of chemo that would embarrass a medieval inquisitor. It's incredibly difficult for me to concentrate on posting right now but I'm doing it to the best of my ability. They say it's all cumulative and this is the worst so far. I should be better in a few days

Keep up the good fight you stubborn SOB. I want to either celebrate a good football season with you this time next year or fight about whether it's time for a new coach. Hopefully the first one. I'm pulling for you.

at times it did appear terrible but I would put a lot of that on the lack of experience and shuffling of the Oline mostly due to injuries and suspensions. This year we should see a big improvement from that position group as the unit only loses one player and will be much more experienced and will add even more depth. Hopefully the injury bug and suspensions wont hit us as hard and Ingram returns.
