So if he ends up with a two loss season in year three like the previous coach, you cool?

Well no Rog, because O lost as many SEC games this year as Miles lost in his first two combined.

Going 10-1 in 05 and 10-2 in 06 had already built up capital for Miles. So no, finally going 10-2 in year 3 doesn’t put them on the same level (context right Les?) even though 10-2 is in general the mark for a really good season.

The program has arguably failed to live up to its potential in three years now under O. This team absolutely has the potential to go 11-1 this year so failing to lead the team to their max potential AGAIN is just more than enough proof that he just never will.

Especially when you consider how much we lose going into 2020.

That isn’t to say going 10-2 next year would be a “bad” season. I’m sure it would be fun and we’d end up in a good bowl game. But when you consider what could and should have been the past three years and add another season of coming up short, even though it improved on this year (which also came up short), it can still be looked at as a red flag when evaluating a coach.

Hell, 2011 is widely hailed as the biggest disgrace in LSU history and an embarrassment by the coach despite being the best season we’ve ever had. Context!!

If this team has yet to max out on the talent at hand under O before 2021, when we will likely not even have Miles’ DC around to lean on anymore, I just can’t fathom how anyone could say with a straight face that he is the guy to be in charge of the LSU program.

It's just ridiculous that the same posters here continue to aggressively assert that major improvements have been made and that an upward trend exists. There isn't any measurable results that support and favor their argument but for some reason that doesn't matter.
There is an "Upward Trend" in their minds only.

Reality...... 3 loses. 3rd place in the SEC West. Loss to a team LSU perennially beats. ZERO points against Alabama. Grossly inferior OL/DL talent and depth. OL/DL recruiting that's still not "Good Enough" in "Difference Maker" talent and numbers. Still too many "In over their Heads" assistant coaches on the Staff.

Pump. Cheer. Make excuses for dysfunction. Take your Meds. (MA)

There is no Upward Trend. It's imaginary and not valid in the real world. The program is static and stationary.

(The only positive movement upward is the slight possibility that Joe Brady might be able to do something progressive with the Offense)

Um zero chances, UGA would’ve still won the East both of 0s seasons.

Well some in this thread (e.g., p&g) seem to think that he needs 12 years.

Ok, good job moving goalposts...

So even losing one will suck because of this new development you've thrown in?

They sure did as did auburn last season. I guess that’s why there’s a 12 game season so that selective games and stats don’t determine everything. And it’s not luck it called performing every week, loss or not they had a better record period.

Ya they don’t return 17 starters from the best LSU team in 5 years with an excellent recruiting class or anything

The best LSU team in 3 years.

FIFY

The other 2 seasons 0 was the coach for the majority of the games.

No idea what you’re talking about.

I’ve said repeatedly 11-1 is the mark for a great year. That will put us right at the top 5 before the CFP (when the rankings actually matter), and truly in the hunt for a spot.

That’s all you can ask.

I’ve never said beating Alabama was a must for O (though I did say it was for Miles going 16).

But just keep making stuff up so you can avoid responding to what is actually said. It’s your thing
