The back and forth in this thread is just getting silly and repetitive. I think the real issue that everyone needs to be more concerned about is what happened to Earlpearl. Has anyone checked on Earlpearl?

So you came to the conclusion that he's slowing down based on the result of one game vs a really good team?
You reasonably implied that his '18 team might have been his "best team ever". He didn't only lose. He was humiliated. That was an AssWhoopin.

In the process he pretty much embarrassed 14 other teams and he’s returning a lot.

Clemson is going to lose their entire DL, and they won reload like a saban.

They do have Generational talent at QB.

This place is better off without the Penscoalaevergreen and Earlpearl alters. Now, if the guy would just pick one name and attempt to be reasonable he could be a great addition. The guy obviously has a lot of faith in Coach O and it makes for good balance in our discussions.

So 3 1/2 hours vs a great (undefeated) Clemson team is enough to cancel out the shellackings Bama gave out over the course of the season, and is enough to declare that a coach is losing a step?

So basically the only way Saban isn't losing a step is if he crushes everyone on the schedule?

To me this sounds like arguing against yourself. If it's arguably his best team ever then that means he hasn't lost a step at all and rather that Dabo has gained a bunch of steps and gotten ahead. I just don't see how one can proclaim Saban's best team ever is him slowing down.

So Dabo now is better than Saban ever was, in your analysis?

Pearl's been absent for a few days. Can't say I miss him/her.

I think we all assume that pearl's an alter. And if pearl's who most of us think he/she is, perhaps that account has already been banned. To be honest, if it's happened, it was just a matter of time.

It's football. A coach can beat another coach on a given day and it doesn't mean that the winning coach is better.

Dabo's beaten Saban 2/4 years (I think). It's fair to say that Dabo's an elite coach. Any elite coach can beat another one. Doesn't mean that he's better.

Serious question. Is there a growing narrative that Dabo is now a better coach than Saban?

Yeah he also beat them down last year.

Clemson was very underrated thisnuear.

They returned a lot

That DL was nasty and Lawrence is one of the highest rates recruits Ever

He certainly was that night. However, I don't think it's enough to proclaim him better overall because of that one game. I think the point is that Dabo has gotten his program to the level that they can beat anyone on a given day.

It’s hard to say a coach who has 2 NCs is better than a coach with 6.

He is 2-2 and got his arse kicked last year.

So we’ll see going forward.

All time not close

Currently sure

It is fair to say that Saban is working with far less talented players than Dabo, right? Over the last 5 years? Right?

Saban's 40 time. He was 4.28 in '17 and couldn't get under 4.3 in '18.

And LSU and O are at a 4.6

Uhh ... hasn't Bama had the #1 recruiting class for 30 years in a row now? I've honestly lost count.

I timed Coach O with the same wind-up Westclox alarm clock. O ran a 4.21

Typo. My bad. Yes, Saban has had FAR better talent to work with than Dabo. Not even close. And Dabo STILL slobberknocked him in the Natty. Could Saban be losing a half-a-step?

Or is Dabo a better HC than Saban ever was? Can't have it both ways - LOL
