Seems most of the pressure came from Boosters on Alleva in November, after the Ole Miss game
You think a decision on the greatest coach in LSU history, who had been to a National Championship only a few years prior was made over the course of, as you say, 5 losses in 9 games?
Do you think that decision would have been different had Miles won 12-13 games in at least one of 2013-2014, meaning competing for an SEC Championship and Winning the west?
It was the culmination of lackluster performances and 3 loss seasons, and looking like we were never going to beat Bama or get back to the NC. Not the 5 losses in 9 games, that was just the exclamation point on lackluster few seasons. The decision wasn't made there.

I think that most people agree that O needs to improve this season. IMO the disagreements come between people that believe it will happen and those that either don't believe it will or haven't seen anything yet to make them declare that they see it coming.

This is the way I see it as well. It looked as if he hit a plateau and 10 years is a long time for a coach to be in one spot. It was time for a new message and new direction.

I didn't see this edit earlier. I much prefer the civil discussions to the name calling and accusing people of lying and so on.

Well, you would have to make a lot of assumptions to think otherwise.
Lsu was ranked number four going into the Bama game.

As much shite as Roger and Ben get for what people considered being O defenders, they've both said that he needs to improve in 2019 or he's in troubl
And that's fine and admirable but their definition of improvement hasn't been the same as the countless others on here.
We will find out though I guess.

quote:Um... You're leaving out the part where 24/7 bumped the fake recruit up to a 4-Star. What additional info did 24/7 uncover to take up to a 4? Without so much as a Google search? In 3 seconds, the schools address and phone number pops up. A 24/7 4-Star ranking isn't worth a phone call?
I couldn't have come up with a dumber example than Rivals creating a profile, giving an evaluation and then giving a 3* designation for a fake player?

I just dialed their number - it took 6 seconds

You have any statements of mine to back that up?

I really don't give a shite what 24/7 did AFTER RIVALS CREATED A FAKE PLAYER. I don't care that he was added to the composite because they pulled in data on a fake player that was CREATED BY RIVALS.
Your end all of the recruiting services CREATED A PROFILE, FABRICATED AN EVALUATION AND GRADED A FAKE PLAYER AS A 3*.

What are your expectations for 2019?

Unless you want to combine win losses from 2 seasons, right?
Im taking notes on your inconsistencies.

Ive never judged any coach on one season. It's fair to say Miles had the program going in the wrong direction over that span.

Only 2 people in this thread agrees with this.
Only an idiot would say miles is still fired after winning 4 straight NC.
Everyone can see why you dismiss the losses as a reason for miles being fired. You do it so you can claim the same win loss numbers for O as success.

And that's what I don't get. If you have "cautious optimism", it seems you're labelled a "nega" by the extremists. Which is stupid. You can be positive and still have concerns. Those concerns are warranted.

Not really.

And then he looked like 2013-2014 all over again, with his pattern - wins a couple of games he shouldn't lose a couple of a games he shouldn't and lose to Bama. Rinse, repeat. This is basically what got him fired, not the 5 losses. Those are inconsequential, especially as a statistic over 2 seasons.
He clearly wasn't going to compete for the SECC or beat Bama, even when he "looked good and got to #4."
Let's say Miles was 12-2 in 2013 and 13-1 in 2014 Then 2015 and 2016 happen the way they do. Is Miles fired at 2-2 in 2016?

I to read that post a few times to make sure I was reading it right. I get hyperbole to prove a point, but that was a bit much.

Top 12 and 13 and overall winning percentage and total wins. But soon will overtake Tennessee if they continue to flounder for 11 in total wins so yeah close enough to be top 10. But whatever fantasies the Negatiger m..s and Gump imposters and Loser rejects who hate O want to cicle jerk off to is fine with me. Makes them more sub human and effed up:).
