Your downplaying but whatever

Robinson’s long history in the game being replaced by someone who’s never done it is a down grade

Meatball to bill Johnson is a downgrade

Aranda to Pelini is a downgrade

Joe Brady to Linehan is a downgrade

The inability to fill some of these roles with guys that can recruit is concerning. It feels like the mix went from about 50/50 to 80/20

I thought the story was Faulk didn’t want an on field coaching position.

Do you understand that the roles of RB coach and recruiting coordinator are not tied together? Meatball has been abused for his failure to close and was a linebacker GA before Ed promoted him to the line. One of Brady’s reasons to leave was his hatred of recruiting. And Bo had fielded defenses with higher rankings than anything Aranda did here (not mitigating how great Aranda is).

But please continue with your catastrophe syndrome

I’m speaking from a recruiting standpoint

Pelini is a fine def Coach. But you hire a guy like him, then you Offset it by hiring an ace recruiter. Just my opinion.

Do you understand that you don’t hire a RB coach because he is good at coaching RBs?

Your RB Coach is essentially one of your best recruiters. “Coaching RBs” is secondary. Kevin Faulk has never recruited in his life. Robinson has been good at it for a long time. That is a lazy frickin hire & a downgrade.

Faulk has recruited players that visited campus the last 2 seasons. No, he hasn't had an on the field role, but obviously O and others have seen Faulk recruit and evaluated his ability to recruit. He's recruited La kids and sold the advantages of staying home, flashed some super bowl rings, and oh by the way, can sell kids on what it takes to make it in the NFL for a long time.

Faulk

Has a great relationship with LA high school coaches. One more step in locking down LA.

You cant be this dumb to think Faulk hasnt recruited at all the last 2 years. An LSU legendary RB hasn't recruited at all the last 2 years while on this staff...you couldn't possibly be any more clueless.

I agree though actually Faulk for TRob is probably the least of my “concerns” if you can even call them that.

Do you remember that guy Austin Thomas, recruiting wizard? Know who took over his job and title?

Kevin Faulk

Hosting players isn’t recruiting. Real recruiting is tireless, it’s thankless, it’s a job for up & coming hungry coaches. Not someone that hasn’t wanted an on field coaching job.

Faulk has been one of the huge reasons we've landed some kids the past few cycles, again, you're absolutely clueless if you think he isn't a good recruiting hire. He knows what he's doing there, he's been on staff for the last 2 years and gets really close to all the kids. We've put him on visiting kids for a while now.

If you think Coach O is dumb enough to let Tommie's contract expire to DOWNGRADE to Kevin Faulk, then well, remain clueless I suppose

No, not the same role. Thomas was a personnel guy and later “GM”. Heavy in recruiting & identifying players.

Faulk has dealt in player development. Basically a glorified coach without any of the responsibilities

Crazy to think our best recruiters: Corey Raymond (50 yo), Bill Busch (50 yo), and Mickey Joseph (51 yo) are still so up and coming

Keep on bringing the dumbass takes brother
