That’s just the truth. If Covid, and the now defunct BLM movement never happened, he would still be the coach.

a backstabbing moron that burned down the program as most predicted?

Did they predict he'd go 15-0 and win a national championship in one of the best seasons of all time too? I certainly didn't. He might have been a meathead and a moron that needed to go when he did, but he was smart enough to really go hard after Burrow after he was told about him. And Burrow said O was the reason he went to LSU. O was also smart enough to realize that the offense they were running in 2018 wouldn't cut it. And he recruited many of the guys on the greatest team LSU has ever had.

That 2019 season was a bigger deal than any bad he did with the two seasons that followed. Any true fan recognizes this and appreciates this. And we recovered quickly in BK's first year.

It was LSU vs Cincy, what 'd you expect Joe to do?

Not really. We were back in the SECCG in Kelly's first year.

Joe was from Cincy and said he thought he was gonna go there until O recruited him and sold him on LSU. LSU was known for having an anemic passing game when O was trying to recruit him to go to LSU too.

And again, Burrow was an unknown afterthought basically. O could have said "no thanks" like lowly Nebraska did even though Joe really wanted to play there. O could have just believed that Brennan was the future. He didn't do that. He recruited Burrow super-hard and it changed everything when it all worked out.

He didn’t discover Burrow. Bill Busch and Ensminger did.

Did you read what I said? I said he went after him super-hard after he was told about him.

And again, Burrow was basically a nobody when he recruited him. So you have to give him credit for listening to a suggestion about a player and not just relying on what he already had in Brennan, etc.

Burrow was leaning toward going to Cincy because he was from the area and knew the head coach (Fickell) because he had coached him at Ohio State. But Burrow said Coach O sold him on a vision and convinced him to go to LSU. The rest is history.

This. Coach Zero is an idiot who got incredibly lucky once and then quickly realized that he was in over his head as a SEC head coach and let the program burn to the ground.

He wouldn't have known about Burrow had it not been for Bill Busch and Ensminger.

So to say he "recruited him" is disingenuous. You're implying that he did it all on his own which isn't the case.

Don't take my word for it:

There actually should be a movie with the title “Coach O”…it’s quite a story.

LSU has become Schrodinger's program to BK disciples.

It was both a disaster and SEC West champs. And they selectively choose either to benefit their argument.

There’s definitely some kind of animosity between O and the people in charge of LSU right now. It seems like he’s been at every other college football teams practices and games, with the exception of LSU.

Kelly is in charge of who comes around the FB program. If he wants O to come make a visit then O will come make a visit. It’s that simple.

Also might have been something in O’s buyout contract that he is to stay away from LSU for a certain number of years.

Cincinnati is on the opposite end of the state from Athens. Not even close to one another. This is false.

I still think in Coach Os defense that winning the Championship in 19’ and then having Covid hit the following season was a huge recipe for disaster and a loss of focus.

Every team in the country had to deal with the COVID season.

Many, many, many of them dealt with it better than O’s team did.

We also somehow have a "talent problem" 3 seasons in while having to process guys from the roster each season and 5* WR walking out the door while needing WR.

In his separation agreement and buyout he agreed to appear twice per year on LSU's behalf at events of LSU's choosing. Somebody on here posted his buyout paperwork back when it happened. So I would say it is possible.
