not good?

If I had recruited a play that did this, I would explain this to the fans in the beginning about his changing character. Something to the effect that he is a changed person and of good quality now. But, nothing? Is Cjj just looking for basketball players?

So why when TJ was coach did Coleman take lots of visits and talk up other schools yet within a couple weeks of Jones getting hired he signs on the line? Why did Geert come out and say that because of Jones hire he would push Shane to LSU even more?

thank you for making the point. admission he was going to lsu, probably regardless the coach.

secondly, coleman wanted to come to lsu and waiting for the next coach to be hired to see if he fit in the plans.

I'm not on here pumping trent and bashing jones. I'm excited with the hires he's made. He's done a good job in the short time he's been here. i'm happy about that.

to say he's rebuilt the team in three weeks and he got all these players on his and with trent previously recruiting them is absurd.

let's be a little realistic here. the team, without hamilton and warren, isn't as good as last years team. If you think we are winning 20 next year, you'll be here bashing jones, then.

i'm gonna predict 20 wins next year...with almost no bigs i can see us lighting up 3's and getting tons o long rebounds in a retro loyola marymount style offense...at least that's what i dreamed the other night.

Hammink was more likely to go to LSU than other places but he had some big time offers which with Trent still coaching here he might have given more consideration. Hiring Johnny Jones was what sealed the deal according to his dad. If trent was still here we have no idea what would have happened.

If we get Odoh then we win 20 games.
A line up of
Hickey, morgan/hammink, coleman, JOB, Odoh with Stringer, morgan/hammink, godfrey coming off the bench
>>>>>>
Hickey, Stringer, Tuner, JOB, Hamilton with Storm and Malcom white and ludwig off the bench.

Hamilton while a decent player disappeared down the stretch. Having a post rotation of JOB Godfrey and Odoh will be almost as good if not better than last year (if JOB takes a step forward) and we will be much deeper and more consistant at positions 1-3. We won 18 games with that team with bad losses to South Alabama and Coastal Carolina. 20 wins with the aforementioned lineup is very very possible.

Someone mentioned on here that TJ left us a good foundation, that guy should be baned for lack of any type of bb knowledge. This program was in shambles and would have been disastrous had he stayed two more weeks. It is refreshing to have a guy in place who at least has LSU in the converstation with some top tier players. Johnny has already done in a month more than TJ did in four years. I am curious if TJ has signed a player at TCU yet. Johnny will get us some top tier players maybe this year but for sure in the future and we will have a very athletic SEC type program pretty quickly with Johnny. What Johnny has done since he has been should wake up some people to the fact of how bad TJ actually was and if you can't see that by now your hopeless. We should be very excited about the potential we have in the future here. All I can say is thank You TCU. Your in for a tough mediocre at best run.

There are no Johnny OBranyt's in the recent signings. Most are academically questionable. I hope your high praise doesn't change to pessimissum by mid SEC season next year. Here's hoping but I think he will be a bust for the same reason. Inability to get top flight players from out of state when competing with Ken, Duke, UNC etc.

1. You have to cheat to do that.
2. Let's wait and see what Jones can do with more than two freaking weeks to recruit.

Probably had at least a little bit to do with the Spring Signing Period not beginning until after Johnson left, but that's just a guess.

Dang it I must have forgotten that the spring signing period had to have started to give a verbal commitment

Dang I must not have seen where you mentioned verbal commitment, all I saw was "signs on the line".

Wow. Taking everything the most absolute literal way possible. The point was that Trent couldnt get anyone in this class other than Malik Morgan to make any sort of commitment to him or LSU binding (singing) or not binding (verbal commitment) People can say that Coleman and Hammink were coming to LSU no matter what but they had every opportunity to say Im going to LSU yall can stop recruiting me Im not visiting etc. and neither did. When Jones got here they were ready to jump on board after he got a hold of them.

We have to take some risks right now. I just hope that our coach can get the most out of these guys...without the off-field issues.

....and equally important, you open the door to include Daddy Dale back into the LSU B-ball family. Not saying Dale will be involved in coaching, but Dale is probably the greatest ambassador LSU has known--plus he can mentor Johnny on the fickleness of the LSU far base and media....besides Dale deserves to be a part of LSU basketball especially since his accuser publicaly apologized and said it was false.

I tell you, the Deaf Dome was such a fun place back in the day. Remember getting to the student section by 530 to get a seat for the mid-week game....newspaper in hand!!!

Update, the center that unt restricted from coming to LSU was just released to LSU assuming we want him. Anyone else think we need a center?

We're looking like a tourney team next year if we get Odoh, which seems innevitable.

By the way, reports are out that the undecided big 5* from miss has been on campus for a visit within the last week possibly.
