So let me ask, are any of the players that Jones has signed to date potential first round NBA selections, or are they simply solid college prospects?

They are all more like role players at the collegiate level.

Except for Hammink.

TJ should have recruited jc players more often imo

This should be a no-brainer in this day and age. Calipari has set the blue print for winning National Championships with one and dones. Why not go after 2 and dones. Should be a no brainer, but I guess that is why TJ sucked.

did you miss the part where we have 4 signed, committed, well-regarded players on the roster now?

I haven't seen much of these well-regarded players. If they turn out to be Tack Minor, Regis Koundjia, Magnum Rolle, and Xavier Whipple, are we still as optimistic?

Everyone of those guys are more athletic than what he had sitting on the bench last year. Our lack of talent was sickening. It seems we are getting more athletic with these new signings so I'm excited to see what happens.

He has done serious work since becoming the new head coach, and I know a lot of the doubters are already starting to change their opinion. I am excited about LSU basketball again.

One of the nice things about the ones we have is that 2 are JUCO and 1 is international academy. They have played while being away from home and in the college environment. May not be quite SEC caliber competition, but overall the chances they are a total fail is much less likely.

Overall you have to be pleased with coming up with 3 players in three weeks that we may have not gotten before he was hired.

He has really taken the lineup he was given and started to piece together the holes.

Thanks for the information Big Ed. Like I told my DAd, I think Johnny Jones was the best possible hire at the time and at least having a former player come back home, you know that he wants to be here and is not just looking at LSU as a stepping stone. Props to Johnny Jones for bringing some enthusiasm back to Tiger town.

I was really not too happy about the hire but I can now see LSU should have hired Johnny when they hired TJ.

I changed my tune from the press conference alone. I think Johnny will work so damned hard to try and bring LSU back that it's worth it.

JJones has surrounded himself with excellent asst coaches, which, imo, was the biggest downfall of TJ... anyone know the names of TJ's assts?

Its good to hear a positive aspect about the basketball team. But with all due respect, TJ turned the program around not Jones.

Jones did however give followers something to be excited about and came back to the south to try to turn the recruiting game around.

One thing i hope Jones can do better than TJ besides recruiting is improving their individual skill sets. Obryant should have been a SEC all-freshman selection with Hickey. Hickey just has the entangables and all he needs is a little more patience.
