I still think he’s a great coach without a great team this year.
Today he pinch hit York in middle of game against a lhp. Would have been nice to have him in late innings against RHP( I know..prolly would have walked or KOed, but questioned PH him early.
If Evans out we gonna really need some innings from pitchers rest of weekend.

Yeske called 3 straight breaking balls with 0-2 count and 2 outs. Have to throw something different on the third pitch.

Jay was banking on rain delaying the game and it backfired on him

I mean look man. It is what it is. This team isn’t going anywhere this year anyway. Jay will be able to get an early start on the portal now at least.

I agree that the pitch calling was dog shite, but LSU left entirely way too many guys on base, especially in scoring position.

Could have easily put the game away or won it with just one more timely hit.

Pitch calling was bad
Hitting with RISP was bad
Fielding was bad

Multiple phases of the game played poorly. Can’t pin it on one thing. And that has been the MO of this team. Actually getting worse it seems

York sucks, but his average against LHP this year is .450

He gets too married to his pitching plan. Its college baseball, if you have an arm running hot, ride it. If you plan to use 7 different guys, odds are a couple of them will be off. Shouldve stuck with benge and fontenot longer. Still hasnt learned after the unc regional final

He has a overmanaging rep since his tenure at Zona, Jay is a matchup guy. Can be boom or bust.

IMO, this is a valid criticism of Jay.

I don't care what you think or say.....Gavin Guidry lost this game giving up home runs.....he just doesn't get any better and he thinks he is a stud. Stop with all the negativity for our coach. Two national championships in 4 years. He will rebuild this team and win another national championship. The pitching staff (players) are the problem. Never seen so many walks, wild pitches, hit batters.

Did the same thing in the SECt final pulling the same pitcher, Ackenhausen, too soon. Then didn’t learn his lesson.

Hope Guidry has a good career as an estimator at MMR. No future in baseball for that bum

Go back and watch the batters fontenot faced, an error by our right fielder turned into a hit.

Walked one guy on some questionable calls.

Was only allowed to get one out.
