I've seen a ton of posts on Kelly's clock management.

Here's my take. It was like a B- or C+: Passing but not excellent.

We won the game and Arkansas did not have a realistic chance at scoring after our FG.

Enjoy the win.

Miles would have lost that game.

If we're saying, given the same end game scenario, I do not think Miles' LSU loses that game.

To me, there are 2 actual issues I hope the staff and team focus on this week:

1) Allowing the opponent to pick up a 1st down on 3rd and long or after 2nd and 15+.
2) sufficiently covering receivers, especially tight ends (like #9)

Here’s my take: none of the posters on here would have done better because most can’t count.

You give his clock management a B-? Holy shot he managed the clock about as bad as he could have. Only way to do worse is throw 3 straightt incompletions. Very concerning that he or no other coach thought wait we are going about this wrong.

I don't buy the Miles comparisons. Kelly knew exactly what he was doing, and the team was totally in control. No confusion. You might not have loved the exact sequence of plays but it wasn't a Les Production by any means.

Idiots on can sit back and make judgements without knowing a damn thing about the feel of the game - which is all about what his players can and can’t do. I saw a stupid comment about centering the field. Really? Maybe Ramos is better from the hash than center at that position of the field. None of them even considered that.

We lost an opportunity to score a touchdown and gave them the ball back with time on the clock when we didn’t have to. I would say clock management at the end was pretty bad. But, he did it with intention. Miles would have run the ball again with no timeouts and not been able to get the field goal unit on the field in time.

Feel of the game? There was less than 120s left. The ball was on the 5yd, Ark had no TOs and we had 2. This was a very easy math decision.

Then why doesn't he kick extra points from the left hash?

We left the toughest angle to kick from on the football field (I didn’t say toughest overall kick but a 20 yard kick from a hash is a tight angle).

And does Tiger1988 realize we can move the ball for the extra point but choose 100% of the time to kick from the middle?

I think he ran it about perfect.

LSU ran 9 plays to drain 5 minutes, and the first 5 were to keep the clock moving and get into chip shite field goal range.

Once at the 7 yard line the clock was drained to kick a field goal with 8 seconds left.

LSU only loses on an 80 yard play.

Clock management around CFB is awful right now. I think even the best are struggling with the new rules. We’ll see it get better for the top guys and the ones who suck will continue to suck at it

Running it perfect would mean Arkansas wouldn't even have a chance for an 80 yard play.

That's just absurd. Please refer to 1 successful Hail Mary and/or Hook & Lateral type play from scrimmage at ones own 35 or worse. You can't because it never happens. There was a negligible chance for an Arkansas victory after we kicked our field goal.

Okay, there's 1 in the last 21 years.

And it's literally called "Miracle", because it never happens.

Regardless, y'all are just being miserable for the sake of misery. Clock management wasn't excellent, but it was acceptable.
