We're supposed to feel sorry for the guy that conned his way into a job he is grossly unqualified for and for which he's guaranteed to be paid at least $12 million? Nah, frick that.
This. Also, Orgeron has made it clear he feels he deserves the job. He gets no sympathy from me.

I wouldn't be so sure. There are plenty of people who think we're "right on track".

It is very likely both Aranda and Canada are gone after this season, then two new coordinators will be in charge.
This is the thing im not sure about. Granted, it could end up a total shite show by years end, but theyre making a shite load of money.

Offense's success is predicated on making defenses defend the jet sweep preventing them from teeing off on QB in the pocket or overloading the front against the inside run.
DUH! i have said this for years! especially after watching CUM and malzahn use this to beat bama. maybe clemson on a smaller scale. but we have football naive fans here who never got it and maybe never will.

WHAT.THE.frick. i wish miles had given control to OC's to run a complete less predicable offense that used whole field however the AD especially alleva should stay out.

I suspect they would leave on their own vs. being fired by LSU. Aranda and Canada were "in demand" before LSU. I suspect other HC's will be more than happy to overlook any "regression" this season and just attribute it to LSU's HC being a cartoon character and LSU's administration being a bunch of amateurs

The only way Alleva meddling makes sense to me is if Canada went to him personally and complained that O wouldn't let him run his offense unfettered (as promised when he accepted the job). Alleva may have felt compelled to get involved in that situation. I've seen that sort of thing happen in my career. People sometimes go to their boss' boss if they feel like their boss is not acting appropriately. It is the nuclear option, though.

Only good thing is aleast Alleva had enough sense to tell O to quit screwing with the team or they will all be gone next year!

Not necessarily. It was stated that Alleva has been watching film with the coaches. It could be that he just picked up on the issues while Orgeron and Canada were having a "disagreement" about the offense.

They may find it challenging to leave this year without help from LSU. Unless Canada and Aranda are getting promoted to head coach of a major program, their buyouts are going to be prohibitive for them to make a jump. That's one of the second order consequences of this model. We're stuck with them. You can't fire them if you are O because we sunk a ton of money into them. So unless they get promoted or LSU waives the buyout, they are ours for better or worse.

Don’t think anyone had to go to Alleva. We lost to Troy. Don’t need to be a rocket scientist to see something is wrong.

Not running Canada's offense cost LSU the Troy game IN LANDRY'S OPINION. He does not believe Orgeron will meddle in offense again.

Concern going forward is will Orgeron meddle the next time something is not working well.
Huh? One of these doesnt belong, we all know which one.

While this is true I am of the opinion (and that is all it is... ) that there is influencers (as in major donors to the athletic program) that has Alleva's ear and it is entirely possible they are the instigators of said meeting...

If Alleva wants to coach so bad, I would make him forego the rest of his salary and he can go start out as a GA making that money and work his way up the coaching staff

I think there were 3 camps. Camp 1 - against the hire and after the hire continued to scream to the mountain tops how bad it is. Camp 2 - Were all in and was excited about the reign of O. Camp - 3 not in favor of the hire, but once it was done was willing to support it in hopes that the sum of the parts was enough for success.
Normally I would've been in group 3. That's just the way I generally approach these types of things.
But the choice of coach in this particular case was too questionable and there were too many red flags everywhere with him. I didn't think we had to wait to form a reasonable judgement on his coaching skills. Coaching is hard enough when you've proven to be good at your job. We didn't need to stack the deck against ourselves.
