Clemson...
3 Star
3 Star
3 Star
4 Star
5 Star

LSU...
3 Star
3 Star
4 Star
4 Star
4 Star

We all saw what they did in pass pro last night. So I’m tired of hearing the excuse that we don’t have the talent, it’s a lame excuse.

InB4 you say Lawrence is better than Burrow. No shite. But we can’t score A SINGLE POINT! He’s not that much better

InB4 you say their o-line is older. So what. That’s the coaches job to keep his team together. Our guys aren’t leaving because they are lighting the world on fire.

Played together a lot longer than:

Refreshing.

There are a lot of issues/rooms for improvement on LSU’s oline:
Talent
Development
Scheme
Proper player evaluation and utilization

I’ve stumped hard on here today for better scheme, and that is a HUGE part, but not the only part. I believe that 5* is a tackle. If so, that’s a massive difference then what we have had to do lately

We have guards at tackle...still coaches' fault.

This is kind of a big deal when it comes to o line so you can’t just dismiss it with this comment. Why was Kentucky so good at running the ball this year? They had all 5 offensive linemen return from last year. I bet they weren’t a lot of five stars in that group.

LSU:
Charles 4* 18th (G)
Brumfield 4* 6th (G)
Cushenberry 3* 82nd (G)
Lewis 3* 2nd (JUCO)
Deculus 4* 10th (T)

Clemson:
Hyatt 5* 2nd (T)
Simpson 4* 7th (G)
Falcinelli 3* 46th (G)
Pollard 4* 27th (T)
Anchrum 3* 24th (G)

Clemson's OL has a lot more experience, and they've been in one basic coaching system for their entire run.

LSU changing to a zone blocking scheme was a mistake, IMO. Hiring Cregg was a bigger mistake.

LSU had a patched OL with no depth most of the season.

Its all about the quick passing attack early in the game. It wears down a D-Line that is great at pass rushing. I want to take the time later today to do in actual in-depth analysis of the number of quick passes from Burrow vs Lawrnece/Fromm

you do realize LSU has run zone schemes for many years?

example from 2007:
Hester Inside zone left

People will bitch and call u names but you are right. 29-0 was ridiculous. 8 in a row is ridiculous. We make them look completely u stoppable every year. Losing is one thing but wtf is there such a drastic difference in production for our olines?

Crazy that Miles and his mess got us blanked with Ensminger in 2016, but that same mess with Canada put up 306 yards and 10 points AT Alabama, then that mess with Ensminger and a better QB got blanked again at home.

What's the common denominator in getting shutout?

Ya. Came you the last top tier Offensive lineman under Miles? Or any drafted in the top 3 rounds or so in the draft?

Trai Turner?

Certainly none left over when O took over.

Having “program players” is great & needed but when your whole OL is program players wtf do you expect to happen?

Do we have to do this again with Clemson's OL?

They hung 1000 yards on Alabama in 2016/2017 playoffs, and not a single OL player on those teams has been drafted.
