I don’t think it’s rocket science on what it takes for us to win. It’s simply going to come down to red zone conversions. No one is stopping LSU from gaining yards and scoring points. Skills positions are too elite and QB playing at a ridiculously high basically unheard of level. That can not be argued in any way shape or form.

I actually think you see Venables call a much more conservative game, which will absolutely drive him crazy. He’s still going to blitz bc it’s just his DNA but I don’t think it will look like the OSU game. They really weren’t afraid of Fields.

But I think it’s a lot of 3 man rushes, try your very best to keep things in front of you. Make tackles when you have the chance and force longer drives. Trade TDs for FGs is about our only chance.

Bama last year had very similar stats as us, but were awful in red zone and were stopped twice of 4th down. OSU out gained us but only walked away with 9 points on 4 red zone visits.

It going to take the same recipe for us to win. Don’t really see us winning any other way.

The main thing that gives me hope is it’s 1 game and college football is crazy. On any given day anything can happen. Either way looking forward to visiting NOLA for the first time and being back in a NC game. Clemson was very average the vast majority of my fandom so just trying to enjoy this ride while it last.

I think it is. We've gone against some of the best defensive minds in college football, and haven't been touched.

Auburn limited scoring, but we still put up 500yards of offense.

That's a bold strategy, Cotton.

Yeps and Aubie sacked Burrow 5 times in the first half. That's not happening again b/c NOBODY has Aubie's 3 DL.

We've seen it all, nothing you do will phase Joe. Even when you get to him, you don't because he can extend plays and never takes his eyes off the receivers. We can't be stopped, simple as that.

Good points,

I think the difference will be at the LOS (which will come into play in the red zone)

“Poor little old Clemson we are just going to try to play hard and pray”

Dude, you 100% believe Clemson is repeating And that Venables is the mind to slow Burrow down. You should believe it at the very least. Let’s stop the act. Trash talking is more fun when it all comes from a honest heart

The problem is half the time we score before reaching the red zone. Joe finna eat if it’s a 3 man rush all night.

I look at this upcoming game as a revenge game from the 2012 CFA bowl. I know none of these players were in it, probably don't even remember it was played. But it seemed to kind of kick start Clemson's rise to the top. I think this CFP championship, will be LSU's rise to the top. LSU is going to win, and win big. Not OU big, but it's not going to be single digits.

I agree with this as the approach, but the problem is having the guys to do it, and ONLY if you can match us score for score when we get ours.

you've got the right perspective. enjoy it while you can. the albama fans can't enjoy it unless you are dog doo-doo. you have to be trashed.

LSU should beat Clemson this year, but next year sets up for Clemson with a 3rd year Lawrence and more experience on the D.

in the auburn game we dropped some td's, made a mistake, and settled for fg's. just like osu had unforced errors that prevented them from scoring. auburn was the one time we did that. we are much better since then, and we'll be playing on a fast track.

you know, if you have a great season and you just get beat by a better team or that other team just gets that one bounce of the ball - it doesn't really mar your season. if your coaching staff or some bonehead players screws the pooch - that's hard to take.

LSU is #1 in red zone offense and has played three teams ranked better than Clemson in red zone defense including Florida who is #1 in that category.

I think Clemson blitzes every play, counting on the athleticism and speed of the D-backs to make plays

We're going to score 40+ points and our defense is playing the best it has all season. I don't see them keeping up with us.
