Clemson NIL

LSU board I know. Really was hopeful that this game would have similar implications as the Texas Ohio State matchup, that clearly won’t be the case since Clemson sucks.
Question I have is why won’t Clemson embrace NIL? I know Dabo is old school, but it appears to me that maybe they just don’t have the boosters to compete? Hoping that Clemson has a good season moving forward to make that LSU win look better.

I don't think Clemson lacks for money, just that Dabo is choosing to not keep up with the reality of the game today.

They don't have the organization and/or financial backing right now, and even if they did, it has been established that Dabo didn't use all of the money he was availed by the AD.

So, instead of a barbor Dabo had a deacon?
Or am I remembering it wrong?

They have embraced NIL, what they haven’t done is embrace the transfer portal.

The issue is 100% on Dabo's ego and stubbornness. He built his two national championship teams on a very specific, insular culture focused strictly on high school recruiting and internal development. He fundamentally hates the transactional nature of pay-for-play NIL and the transfer portal, believing that getting into bidding wars will destroy his locker room. Ultimately, he's trying to prove he's the smartest guy in the room who can still win the "old-school" way without adapting.
The problem is that the sport passed him by a few years ago. You just can't build a championship roster strictly through the high school ranks anymore while programs like LSU, Texas, and Ohio State are actively plugging holes with elite portal talent. We all saw the result of that roster management gap on Saturday night with that 51-10 beatdown.
I'm with you on hoping they rattle off some ACC wins to boost our strength of schedule, but unless Dabo swallows his pride and changes his philosophy, they're going to keep getting boat-raced every time they step on the field against Miami or a top-tier SEC or Big Ten roster.

I remember some posts about this in the past. I can’t remember the church or how it was rumored to operate, but the church always mentioned did exist as I remember looking it up online.
In the past with Clemson there could be differences with skill players abilities and experience, but they used to still match up physically and athletically with most teams. They don’t anymore.

Maybe Clemson doesn't have the financial backers.

Yep, involving NewSpring Church.

Multiple websites say Clemson spent about $30 million on their roster this year.

Excluding the head coaches…
Clemson spends $11.35 million on coaching staff
LSU spends $11.5 million on coaching staff.
NIL
Clemson 20-30 million, with 15-17 portion being revenue sharing. 5-13 is NIL.
LSU 40-50 million, with 13-15 portion being revenue sharing. 27-35 is NIL.
Dabo is doing a poor job with businesses and alumni to up the NIL amounts available. He’s not a fan, so the effort has fallen short.Their version of TAF is called IPTAY, and it is way behind with NIL. Clemson has just recently attempted to ramp it up and aggressively go after $$$ by combining programs that have a benefit to donors.

More than NIL, Clemson's problem is not using the portal to fill holes regardless of money.
If you're weak in a spot, like an immobile QB that hasn't been able to make the field for 4 years, every other team in the country is looking for an alternative. Dabo just refuses.
Chambliss only made $300K last year, but he filled a huge hole ole miss had.
Clemson has enough money to be good, they're just using it on freshmen that may or may not pan out and Dabo doesn't want to send people packing when they aren't good enough.
