48 years ago I sat in the south end zone of TS and watched Bert Jones throw a last second pass to Brad Davis directly in front of me to beat Ole Miss. That was my 1st game. In January I sat in the south end of the Superdome and watched the GOAT team win the latest national championship. Definitely one for the ages! Tonight I saw Joe throw his first NFL TD. Time marches on. Thanks for the memories.

Dear 2019-2020 LSU Tigers,

Thank you for having the greatest season in college football history. I was honored as an alumnus and fan to witness each and every single moment. Each game will be forever embedded in my mind. Thank you for proving to the world what every person who believed in LSU knew all along. That if LSU were to ever get a prolific offense we'd be unstoppable. Thank you for exceeding that hype in the most dominating fashion and setting this program back on the trajectory that it is supposed to be on. I am now confident that there will be many more national championships in the very near future.

Thank you for sending the doubters backward when you showcased the offense against Georgia Southern. I'll never forget the fact that most of us missed the first touchdown, because of the SEC Network bias.

Thank you personally for beating Texas and giving us an iconic highlight of Mathew Matthew McConaughey (one of my favorite actors) cussing and punching his palm in perplexed denial and a little boy crying in the stands as he witnessed his team get beat on their own field after weeks of talking trash and thinking that "Texas is Back". They are in fact not "back", or moreso they are back to being who we thought they were.

Thank you for unloading our offense on Vanderbilt. I screamed in excitement a lot that game, because of how surprised I was at how easy it was for us to score each drive.

Thank you for dominating Utah State and dismantling one of the nation's best NFL caliber QB's Jordan Love. You showed up and did what needed to be done on offense and controlled the game from start to finish, without having to be too flashy.

Then came the Florida game, where once again the doubters came back and said that our offense was only prolific against weak teams. And like the force that you were, you shut up the doubters and dropped 42 points on Florida in a loud and packed Tiger Stadium, giving many recruits the taste of a Lousiana Saturday night in the true Death Valley. Which would, later on, lead many of them to commit just from the experience.

Soon came the wet-field game against a very raunchy, yet overrated Auburn team. Their defensive line was the real deal. But don't let the scoreboard fool you, we played very well. Auburn didn't do much until late in the game. You guys exposed Bo Nix and allowed him to showcase his serious inaccuracy all game long.

I'll never forget the tension leading up the Alabama game. I thought I was going to miss this game because I would be going on a vacation that had been set and planned for years. However, by diligent grace, I witnessed this amazing game, a game that would bring me to tears of joys, while on a vessel in the backwoods of Slovakia while traveling along the Danube River. And yes, like out of some comedy movie, as the game neared its conclusion I lost my WiFi connection as Joe Burrow scrambled deep into the Red-Zone, during the wanning moments of the game, on what would be considered a Heisman moment for him. The world got to also see Clyde Edwards-Helaire juke, dip, dodge, and break the Alabama defense at some points single handedly in a game that would assuredly propel him to the top of the draft boards over guys like Jonathan Taylor, J.K. Dobbins, Cam Akers, and D'Andre Swift. We ended that terrible streak of us losing to Alabama and once again proved to the college football world that LSU was unstoppable.

There were so many amazing moments. The beautiful throws and scrambles from Joe Burrow, the elusive and powerful runs from CEH, Chris Curry, John Emery and Tyrion Davis, the amazing catches from the quartet of Ja'Marr Chase, Justin "Jets" Jefferson, Terrace Marshall, and Thaddeus Moss. I won't forget Derrick Dillon, and Stephen Sullivan either. The many amazing blocks from a Jim Moore winning offensive line in which 7 guys would depart and test the NFL. The linebackers would play exceedingly well in a group that featured K'Lavon Chassion, Jacob Phillips, Patrick Queen, Michael Divinity and sometimes Marcel Brooks as an edge-rusher, and the guys who would also step up in Micah Baskerville and Damone Clark. DBU would again be DBU as Grant Delpit would lift the Thrope award in a star studded DB room with Kristin Fulton, Derek Stingley, Kary Vincent, Cordale Flott, Jay Ward, and Raydarious Jones, and safeties Maurice Hampton Jr. and of course JaCoby Stevens with features by Eric Monroe and Todd Harris. I will never forget the Haka being performed each game by the Fehoko's,which brings me to the rest of the defensive line we had in Rashard Lawrence, Glen Logan, Tyler Shelvin, Neil Farrell, and Siaki "Apu" Ika and of course the countless other players on the team. Thank you for whipping Georgia and reminding the world why Derek Stingley will be one of the best cornerbacks in LSU history. Thank you for demolishing Oklahoma, and then of course thank you for winning the national championship in the fashion that you did. Leaving it up to no doubt and erasing Trevor Lawerence's undefeated record as a starter. The kid has way too much hype in my opinion.

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY... Thank you for embarrassing, berating, and just flat out toying with the Texas A&M Aggies. Thank you for getting redemption and payback from the season before in a game that in my mind they did not win. Thank you for making their Quarterback Kellen Mond, who has the ego the size of a hot air balloon look so foolish and awful that he barely held any resemblance of a collegiate D1 QB. I continued to squint at my screen, because for a second I couldn't tell if I was witnessing a moving pile of dookie or a human being. Thank you for reminding the Aggies that they will never be on our level, even if they believe that they hire the best staff, garner in the most money, and think that they have the best facilities or campus or curriculum. Even if they get in top-rated recruiting classes. Something in the water is just wrong there. You gave them a serious relality check that they should just be happy Coach Orgeron turned down the difficulty from Varsity to JV and still, our back-up QB in Myles Brennan came in and threw a touchdown.

I could go for hours talking about the season. And I know in 100 years this season will still be talked about and refrenced to, in line with the countless and many amazing LSU seasons that are sure to follow and surely hope to make you guys proud when all is said and done. I won't forget the confident sponatnous talks with that would occur with opposing fans as I took to the streets in my LSU apparel and the pride and just sheer joy of waking up every Saturday to see you guys play and experiencing the pure symphony of elegant play after play, the nailbiting goosebumps when the games would get close, and then the euphoric spectrum after you'd always pull away. You guys are the best ever until we have another LSU team that is better. I wish we had the technology for time-travel so you guys could play some of those amazing teams from Nebraska or Miami that many analyst try to compare you to. But at the end of the day nothing compares to that beautiful trophy that will glisten in LSU's trophy room and those beautiful rings that you guys will have forever and winning it all in the Super Dome.

Sincerely,

Syzygy

Getting in my goodbyes, I saw 3 games of this epic season in person: Florida, Georgia, and Oklahoma. Went to an LSU watch party in Atlanta for the championship, and let me tell you, going to work the next day was a struggle. Totally worth it.

Been following the Tigers since I was in TGBFTL in early 70s, and without a doubt the 2019 season was the greatest in my lifetime. We beat Bama, went undefeated in the regular season, beat the brakes off of GA in the SEC championship game, waxed Oklahoma in the playoffs, Joe won the Heisman in a landslide, then took Clemson to the woodshed in the National Championship. Absolute dream season, once in a lifetime. Now it's time to start over and write another chapter in Coach O's legacy! GEAUX TIGERS!

Greatest season I’ve ever seen. I don’t know if it can be topped. I love everyone of these LSU players and coaching staff that made it happen, if it never happens again, I can say I saw the GOAT football team and they are THE LSU FIGHTING TIGERS! This made everything we’ve went through in the past better and will forever be engrained in me and my family. Thank you Coach O! You are an amazing person and coach! Bring home another one!!!!!

I seriously can’t imagine another team or season topping what we witnessed in the 2019-2020 LSU Tigers. They won everything and mowed over everyone along the way.

My amazing memory to bring forward out of the 2019 title run was bringing my sons to the Texas A&M game - Senior night. The roar of the crowd when Joe Burreaux ran out of the tunnel. By this point in the season, most fans realized we were witnessing greatness. Being there with my sons, being able to share that experience with them was truly priceless.
Coming home to watch the SEC title and playoff run over the next 4-6 wks was a memory I will lay down with in my death bed one day. Thank you lord, and thank you LSU Tigers. I'm forever a Tiger.

Yes, 50-7 was a beauty. It was indeed fun to enjoy this season with family, agreed! Also, seeing the Tiger faithful turnouts in Atlanta (twice) and New Orleans, Joe putting up 65 total TDs, and our defense come on strong in the latter part of the season when we needed them were all special! The 2019 season will never be forgotten.
