“Two separate events”

Both of which have to be handled successfully or else the outcome is a failure for LSU. To this point in time, LSU football has declined since Oct. 2016.

Lane Kiffin is the next Spurrier. We don’t want to miss twice

It’s hard to believe that we are now settling for 7 and 8 win seasons, based on playing 12/13 games.
My favorite is the big buyout. JA is a Fn idiot. Anyway, beating a dead horse.

Shoulda just went with Aranda from the get go since we had a 1/8 assed coaching search.

Only Kiffin is a legit option.

People had to realize that this was going to happen if we fired miles, especially in the middle of the season. Same exact thing that happened in Tennessee, Texas, in Miami.

I believe Kiffen is going to be a good HC, and am on record saying he was my third choice if LSU couldn't get Jimbo or Herman.

It seems more people share this opinion now than before. I caught a decent amount of shite for it before Edward was hired.

I can guarantee there would have been a lot less people calling for Miles to be fired. In September of 2016, the thought that Ed fricking Orgeron was 3rd on the list to be the head coach at LSU would have been laughed off of this board.

After he lost to Florida, I never thought they'd do it.

There wasn't the insane Eaux > Hertman movement until he went UT, IIRC.

To be fair, Ree was already leading that charge on the coaching changes board by mid-October of that season. His Louisville-Houston game thread was comedic gold.

You can pretty much count out every name on that list. This administration wont have any of it. And the chances that both FKing and Alleva are gone when we make this hire are slim-to-none.

Easy to say that after the fact Guess we shouldn't have fired Dinardo or Johnny Jones either
Your understanding of "evidence before us" is marred.
The evidence before us suggests positive moves with Gerry and JJ.
Well thought out, and proven winners hired, not proven losers.

When things went south with Herman, there should've been other options than "I am the search" and the track record of Ogeron.
Not sure how you disagree with the results (evidence).

I don't even think 6-6 will get him fired. 8-4 will be spun as a success.

Not to out do you but he was my first choice then. First choice now. To be fair I think by that time JimBo was not happening. Never ever thought nor do I think today Tom Herman was the man.

This. Win 6/7 and keep your job. Im checked out until 2020 when O is gone. Beat bama and maybe i’ll care. I’ll cheer and support but writing is on the wall for us realists.

Please stop the nonsense. Orgeron is not going anywhere this season if he wins 7 or 8 games and he shouldn't. Orgeron deserves the opportunity to have 4 years like any head coach would. Good grief his 1st recruiting class isn't completely even on campus yet. Lol.

Nah 7-5 and he should be fired. Miles wasn’t fired to get a guy that would do even worse.

Orgeron will absolutely be fired if he only wins 6-7 games in 2018. Like, there’s no question, no doubt... I’ll put $100,000 on it right now. A modern-day LSU coach, especially one with as little builtup goodwill as O, cannot survive a 6-7 win season.

If he wins 8-9, that’s where it gets tricky and really depends on the new leadership (BOS, AD). A lot of that would depend on how we got to 8-9 wins.

If he wins 10+, his job is 100% secure going into 2019.

That is so sad. We have come so far. Such lowered expectations.

Of course it would. O has no successful track record whatsoever to buy him any benefit of doubt.. It is easy to assume that for most coaches, but 6 losses would be incredible at LSU and people would really be going crazy.

Not really. Not with a downward trend. LSU continues to decline under O, he is highly replacement. He isn't any other HC.
