You can only coach up hitting, pitching and fielding so much. The rest is up to the team to execute. We were in every game we lost last.month but one or two aspects didn’t play up to their capabilities. The defense and walks is what bothers me the most. Pitching is starting to improve as a whole. Leaving RISP the last three weeks has been frustrating.

Agreed but the worst has been the base running gaffes recently which should be the easiest part of the game to coach/fix. I mean if you are on 1B you have the entire field in sight plus 1 and 3B coaches, on 2nd you have 3B coach in direct view, it is mind fricking how bad some of those have played out to LSU's detriment. Getting thrown out on a bang bang calculated play at home is one thing, being a mental derelict on the base paths when your team needs runs is totally different.

Leah is the only one in the media with the balls to ask him any tough questions.

Good for her.

I really don't care for Jay's attitude towards simple questions. He forgets that he can make the kind of money he makes because he has an extremely passionate fanbase who pour themselves into this program. Reporters ask those questions because they know that we, the fans, want to know.

You'd think he could just answer the question. It's not hockey. Does he think if he discloses the injury, someone is going to try to hit Tommy on purpose, like NHL teams worry about? It makes no sense.

Hey Slick, everyone has an opinion, and mine is if you or anyone gets their panties twisted because they get upset or annoyed with CJJ short answers to questions he doesn't want to elaborate on like why he benched Whie then GFY. Yes, CJJ gets paid lots of $ to coach his team and under the circumstances is doing a great job. I'm sure you will continue to bitch like a bitch when we are playing in Omaha.

He came off as a total fricking child in response to legitimate questions. First time I thought he didn't look the part.

You people think Jay gives a frick what y’all think lol

Why do you think we give a frick about whether Jay gives a frick?

It's a message board. It's literally designed for bitching. I don't care whether Jay cares or not.

He’s not used to tough questions because he didn’t get any coaching in the PAC-12.

I thankfully did not read all of this thread but I can say unequivocally that I have never seen so many gaping vaginas in any one place than this board.

1. CJJ wants to win and that is his primary aim.

2. If JJ says TW was not available to play in a game, we do NOT need to know every little detail of what went into that decision.

3. I appreciate that JJ is not interested in giving our opponents detailed info about his players' statuses at every moment.

Here’s my opinion on things. Jay is a young coach. He’s never coached in the SEC until now. Young coaches have to go through the process of learning just like the players do.

Young coach? Johnson is 46 years old and has been a D-1 HC for a decade. At what age/experience level does one stop being a “young coach”?

I mean Jay is the youngest coach we’ve hired since before Skip I think. Skip was a mature older man. Smoke was older. Paul was an older and established baseball coach.

Bertman was 46 when he was hired and had never been a college HC. Smoke was 47 and had only 7 years of HC experience…at a small school. Maineri was 49. Johnson was 44. That’s not a huge age difference. Plus, Johnson had 6 year experience at one of the better programs out west before he took the LSU job.

Did you think Johnson was 30 years old? He’s the second most experienced baseball coach LSU has hired in at least 40 years

Let’s see how this played out…
Leah: Jay can you give us an update on White?
Jay: of the record?
Leah: yeah off the record.
Jay: he is suspended a game for violation of team rules OR he has a back injury. You know I can legally talk about that.
Leah: I understand

4 hrs later at the presser…
Leah with her dumb self:
Can you tell us about Whites injury?

Jay(to himself - are you stupid?)
