I'm always the one telling people to knock off the conspiracy theories, but this just has the look of wanting to justify Ohio State at #1 after there was so much backlash from the media last week.

Michigan dropped 1 as well...ive said it 100x they dont want LSU at 1 and will do whatever they have to to keep sec teams out of the top 10...thats why auburn didnt get to 10, bama dropped so much and thats why OSU quality wins that lose (cincy and michigan) only dropped 1...not to mention wisconsin rose to much...oh and did anyone notice minnisoto who didnt play OSU dropped like a rock more so than anyone else bc it doesnt hurt OSU schedule

Oh and Baylor has an impressive win against Texas. So Texas is impressive now.

This entire committee was put together to ensure that traditionally strong programs with household names get into the NY6. Also, the playoff are purely biased towards regional seeding/pairing. The playoff committee is a sham put together to only protect the monetary benefits of the NCAA & the Bowl committees. This shite is a joke.

It appears to go deeper than just wanting Ohio St at #1. Look at the entire rankings as a whole. It's obvious the committee wants big name schools in the prestigious bowls for attendance & tv ratings. There's no way anyone legitimate football analyst could have watched Michigan this season & justify them being in the top 20 right now. Its utter horseshite. The current rankings have no justification whatsoever & only benefit the bottom line of the bowl committees.

Great point. There is just no consistent logic in not only the rankings, but in the way Mullens is explaining the reasoning behind where teams are ranked.

It's all bullshite. I guarantee the bowl committees ($$$$) pushed for College Football Playoff Committee to protect their bottom line as a concession for a 4 team playoff. There's too much money involved for the bowl committees to not have protected themselves in a playoff system that used the old BCS computer formulas. The chances of unfavorable matchups between schools who don't travel well fan wise or matchups that would not draw well on television was just too great.
