I heard that as well. Caught me by surprise.
I am guessing Aleva thought he was untouchable. At least that's been my impression of Patterson's tenure at TCU. He's been there so long and I am sure he's had plenty of overtures over the years.

I am the last person to defend Alleva, but come on. TCU is a rich as frick private school that wants to be a big time football program - we aren't outbidding them for Patterson. That was a money play by Patterson's agent similar to Les getting more money by flirting with Arky.
